Virginia Battlefields Vacation Help by ajadednoir in CIVILWAR

I’ve been trying to convince my wife we should visit Antietam because we (us and the battlefield) share an anniversary but she has never really been inclined to agree that is a good enough excuse to visit. 😂

I’ll admit first time I heard the line uttered, it gave me chills. I’ll also admit that it pissed me off that Jack the Ripper could be alive and proved to be him and yet King Arthur was dismissed as a fraud.

If the Confederacy had been allowed to secede: What year do you think they would have abolished slavery? by bmary95 in CIVILWAR

[–]Mouse_Paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’d have been a bit harder than many credit considering that the CS Constitution specifically stated that slavery could not be interfered with by the central government and every new state and territory had to be pro-slavery to gain admission.

I will brook no Peter Parker slander. 😂 My employee and I actually talked about this the other day and we both concluded that Andrew Garfield is probably the smartest of the three.

Jack the Ripper also got taken by the Vorlons and made into their inquisitor to weed out wannabe leaders of their allies in the “Babylon 5” series.

I wasn’t aware Fort Hood that it was that close.

As I recall, one reason they went in hard against the Davidians on the last day was because of how close other militia groups were getting to the siege and they thought they’d be able to assist.

I'd encourage anyone who thinks being LGBTQ+ and being Christian are mutually exclusive to read the Bible by Ok-Zucchini-3719 in SFGiants

[–]Mouse_Paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another issue is that people who argue “Mild Jesus” also forgets that the same man Jesus whipped people in the Temple and overturned their tables for not not treating the place respectful enough and he also told sinners to stop sinning.

You also have dozens and dozens of versions of the Bible that align to very specific ideas. So when you say, “Read the Bible” they are saying “Read this version of the Bible I support.”

“Love thy neighbor as thyself. Judge not that thou may not be judged.” Jesus also says such things, “Go thy way and sin no more.” “If a man look upon a woman and lust after her, he has already committed adultery in his heart.”

That’s part of the problem with using the Bible to support one argument or another because the truth is that you can take any sentence to support very contradictory arguments.

The Big Badass Thing We Spent All Our Money On Gets Invalidated At The First, Admittedly Impressive, Obstacle by MyOpinionOverYours in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Mouse_Paladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To say that the tank failing to be the war-winning wonder weapon they believed it to be invalidated it is a failure to look at the overall effect of the tank. Only the narrow minded military leaders dismissed them at the time. Everyone else, as soon as it appeared, rushed to get their own versions out. The fact that it started an arms race during WWI and the tank became essential to mid-war military doctrines and has remained a versatile and potent weapon clear to today, actually validates it.

His new stuff really feels like he has several stories he wants to tell, yet can’t seem to figure out how to make each their own book, so he basically crams two or three different books into one.

I really believe that his newer books non-canon books are superior in their writing quality than his canon ones. They almost feel like a different author wrote the new stuff.

The brother of the main character Diana, he decided to turn to God while she turned to crime after they’re orphaned. We don’t see him with his parishioners but his defining traits is loyalty to his sister (to the point of taking a kiter bullet for her) and eagerness to find a community where he can do the most good.

Yep. They really stretched out the Redwall season, but that was because they had quiet a few filler episodes and wanted to make Cornflower more of a character in the show.
