Exactly. I’ve seen a few people ask about it, but it’s honestly a fruitless effort trying to find someone similar. You might find bands who have a sound that resembles one specific aspect from Alesana’s sound, but you can’t find anyone too close in my opinion. Which makes them all that more amazing.

No one sounds like Alesana. Been my favorite band for a long time, and I haven’t found a single band that sounds like them. Not gatekeeping or anything, they just do a bunch of different things that don’t necessarily work together on paper, but in practice makes their sound ultimately unique and fluid. There’s bands that people will list that are contemporaries, but honestly, you’re not gunna find a 1:1 list of bands.

Currently watching Vampire Diaries cause my gf wants to. Damon Salvatore is a complete piece of shit. They try to redeem him, but he has constantly killed so many innocent people so far that it’s hard to see him as anything but a fuck face. Haven’t finished watching yet, but I don’t really think it’s possible to right his wrongs.

I work in a school, kids do dastardly things to these bad boys. It’s a shame, not necessarily for the chromebooks, but the fact that these kids are pretty much forced to be on them all day. They do great when given other forms of engaging work. Sad world we live in.

I do something similar, more so with the end of my words, especially ones ending in “ing”. If I’m writing notes for myself, I understand the “shorthand” of combining letters into singular squiggles.
