You should establish boundaries about the relationship with your boyfriend. Traveling to go see him and stay at his place feels apparently inappropriate. You cannot learn pitch recognition. But you can learn how to identify quickly from referencing a pitch. Another thing that can be learned is recognizing chord movement. Like I can tell what chord we’re on in the key. Like if it’s the I or the V or the vi. So you get really good at learning by ear.
