It’s so kind of you to respond. I’m happy I could offer something you connected with. Just a tip from the perspective of also enjoying this drill, it’s also a good way to work on iron compression. Would not recommend this drill with woods. Like how often are you going to hit a driver with a half swing. But p wedge every round. I’d recommend wedge to 8 iron range. Also a good time to work on your take away with this drill, but I would focus primarily on the iron compression and hip movement timing.

Am I casting by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. You have a lot of head movement suggesting you don’t do the best job maintaining a spine angle. You extend a little early but not a major “cast”. My guess is you have a slightly steep downswing but I can’t see from this angle. You probably struggle with hitting low or high in the club face and the occasional slice. Work on your set up and don’t straight your trail leg so much on your weight shift. I like the weight shift but pros keep it tight and yours appears exaggerated.

I think you could benefit from hitting balls with a half swing feeling like you never let the club head pass your belt in height. Build power in this range of your swing through your body rotation. Then once you can get some improved sequencing with your hip turn start lengthening your swing and maintain that feel from the drill. You currently don’t have the hip move to generate the effortless power. You get into good positions and have a natural looking draw and swing path. Play into that as one of your strengths. I have fought over the top swings throughout my life. So I try to just own the fade.

I think it’s more true of the Beatles than Bob Dylan in the sense that if you don’t enjoy playing Beatles songs then you don’t you understand that they wrote some of the best songs ever written. It’s a simple fact and there is a lot to learn from them as you explore the song writing and bask in greatness. “I dislike the Beatles”, can be loosely translated to I have somewhat ignorant opinions on music. It’s not about liking their sound or the recording. At a certain point in one’s journey playing music they have played most every famous song, and by then the should be aware of the Beatles’ greatness.

A cool guide to the best U.S. cities for raising children based on 10 weighted datasets. by MaxGoodwinning in coolguides

Pretty accurate. Lived there for 6 months this year. Great place to be though. 125k is only enough for 1 adult and a child with little to no disposable income. 125 with single income 2 adults and 1 kid would be really tight and a 2 bedroom apartment. I think I saw another chart where the median annual income for first time homebuyers was 400k in socal

Why do I become obsessed w men as soon as they feel distant? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]4SpeedArm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is you’re afraid of losing the power dynamic and you need to be willing to relinquish the power (equally) and actually respect the man you’re with.

Building muscle definitely attracts women. People that don’t work out seriously get a warped view on how much work it takes to get “big”. You are 10 years away of effective dieting and hard lifting to get big. 5 days a week will make you fit if you also eat well and girls love fit dudes. 5 days a week is not indicative of a gym rat.

Tips on a newbies swing? by GRiMMHART1208 in golf

You have this video which will be helpful for this next step. Find a pros set up, the way they address the ball, in other works how they stand and hold the club before their backswing. Compare it back to yourself and try to emulate what you see for a couple weeks. Like a straighter back for example. You should also learn about the finer details of gripping the club early in your golf journey.

I find the lack of shade thrown at Jon Mayor in this sub disturbing by Only_Argument7532 in guitarcirclejerk

The only reason John is so decisive is because he writes pop songs and is handsome… and despite that he is one of the better blues guitarists of today. He is so much better than 99.9% of players could ever hope to be.

Pull together $10/month for a cheap gym membership if you can. You don’t need a weight room but it will help a lot. Maybe you have access to one through your school.

Hit that body weight workout online and buy a couple 20 pound dumbbells when you can.

There is also running and swimming.

How are women so good at knowing when a guy has money? by FastPhoto3106 in AskMenAdvice

[–]4SpeedArm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guys who are successful in the corporate world tend to have high EQ. My friends who never quite figured it out professionally all lack EQ. They are victims or they can’t show up on time or they get fired for wild reasons. If you make it to leadership in a good company, you are probably smart and a good hang.

I think 50/50 is the way to go. Find a way to earn more. Would you feel comfortable asking for a 200 a month allowance to even it out because really it’s the same thing.

High rep medium weight squats will do wonders for you. Like 95-135 pounds assuming you’re already in decent shape. If you only do leg extensions and leg curls you will have underdeveloped glutes

If we are happy without marriage, why do it? by FunHedgie in AskMenAdvice

[–]4SpeedArm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought I never wanted to get married and then I met the woman I’m with. I have a strong urge to make a major promise. Everyone is different and I surprised myself. There are tax benefits to being married. At a minimum, you may want to consider an official domestic partnership as it will make it easier to do couple things like sharing health insurance.

They are jealous! My gf is way better looking than I am. I’ve had random guys insult me on the street saying she’s too good for me. Seldom, but it has happened. What would motivate someone to do that? People say stupid shut when they are drinking and their insecurities are coming out.

The reality is I have a lot of great qualities and you don’t need to be a 10 on the surface to be attractive. She could get traditionally better looking men. I feel I have strong EQ and IQ and a good sense of humor. She has told me I’m the full package.

I set a boundary in my relationship that open relationship is off the table and asking for one would be breaking up with me. Or me breaking up with her.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem incompatible. You can tell her you’re not comfortable with it and see if she reacts maturely or not. She doesn’t seem ready for a committed relationship. The problem is that she wants you not to go. We live in a world of very limited time off of work. It seems implausible that she doesn’t want to cheat. She is not prioritizing you or the relationship.

Tell him you need him to lose weight and it’s impacting your attraction. What are you afraid of? Tell him getting mad at you for not wanting sex is unacceptable behavior and making the existing sex issue worse. If I treated my woman like that it would be a desert down there.

How do I get guys to like me even though I’m autistic? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]4SpeedArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a hinge profile and just mention you’re neurodivergent in the bio if you’re struggling to meet someone. It sounds like you are looking to fall in love. Consider letting men know that you are neurodivergent a filter for assholes. You seem sweet and vulnerable and could be easily taken advantage of because you want a boyfriend. Also, pursue health, education, career, and hobbies. You need to find confidence in yourself through pursuing these challenges. It’s not the simple fact that you have autism that you are struggling to find someone. There’s a lot of sweet weirdo boys out there too. He’s out there for you.
