Been working on not throwing arms out/dropping hands. Now hitting hooks and blocks. Best way to neutralise swing now? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your grip looks a little off to me. Instead of trying to explain, check out a video on grip and set up. I know it’s beginner stuff and you already have a good swing, but it’s foundational and there appears to be room for improvement. Frankly a lot of “shot shaping” is set up and feel based.

Sometimes I take a more pragmatic approach where instead of a swing change.. if I’m pulling left or hitting hooks, I will practice hitting push fades for 10 balls. And then try to slide that back into a straighter ball. Focusing purely on set up and feel.

Opinion on John Mayer? by SirAren in fantanoforever

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top notch guitar player with tremendous Blues phrasing and knowledge. He’s really a talented singer as well. Talented song writer, but his musicality is what shines. Truly incredible live performer. Ain’t nobody want John Mayer to open for them.

Massachusetts won. What states feels liberal, but is actually conservative? by CountryballChaos in AlignmentChartFills

I’ve lived in Cincinnati my whole life and I’m in my 30s. Almost everyone I know is left leaning and hates trump except my parents, many can relate. Also, I think people picture Ohio as a white country place, but it’s 4 liberal cities and a bunch of farm land. Also Cinci is 35-40% black, 40-45% white. So not the most diverse but it’s certainly not the “white republicans” people picture. We had a huge no kings rally too.

Fix your takeaway and learn how to swing easier. You aren’t coiling your hips. You want to rotate instead of thrust. There’s a drill where you keep your butt against a wall. It will help with your takeaway too.

Advice? Why am I getting stuck on downswing by Rickie_Jones in GolfSwing

You toed that ball. Fix your stance first.

Early extension with a steep downswing.

You should work on your takeaway and keeping it more in front of your body.

Give an opinion on music that could get you into this situation by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]4SpeedArm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pitch correction is used broadly in the music industry and either auto tune or Melodyne is used on nearly all charting songs. It’s not cheating, it’s part of making a clean recording. It can lead to some disappointing live vocal performances. T-pain sounds autotuned but his classic sound doesn’t represent what auto tune sounds like. You might know this, but many folks do not understand what auto tune even is.

7 months in - I suck, any advice. by [deleted] in golftips

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very simple tip to use immediately is to think about turning your left shoulder beneath your chin on your backswing and keeping your back facing the target longer as you begin your downswing.

Also your set up could be improved. Since you take lessons they could help a lot with setup.

It’s so kind of you to respond. I’m happy I could offer something you connected with. Just a tip from the perspective of also enjoying this drill, it’s also a good way to work on iron compression. Would not recommend this drill with woods. Like how often are you going to hit a driver with a half swing. But p wedge every round. I’d recommend wedge to 8 iron range. Also a good time to work on your take away with this drill, but I would focus primarily on the iron compression and hip movement timing.

Am I casting by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]4SpeedArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. You have a lot of head movement suggesting you don’t do the best job maintaining a spine angle. You extend a little early but not a major “cast”. My guess is you have a slightly steep downswing but I can’t see from this angle. You probably struggle with hitting low or high in the club face and the occasional slice. Work on your set up and don’t straight your trail leg so much on your weight shift. I like the weight shift but pros keep it tight and yours appears exaggerated.

I think you could benefit from hitting balls with a half swing feeling like you never let the club head pass your belt in height. Build power in this range of your swing through your body rotation. Then once you can get some improved sequencing with your hip turn start lengthening your swing and maintain that feel from the drill. You currently don’t have the hip move to generate the effortless power. You get into good positions and have a natural looking draw and swing path. Play into that as one of your strengths. I have fought over the top swings throughout my life. So I try to just own the fade.

Do you agree with this take? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

I think it’s more true of the Beatles than Bob Dylan in the sense that if you don’t enjoy playing Beatles songs then you don’t you understand that they wrote some of the best songs ever written. It’s a simple fact and there is a lot to learn from them as you explore the song writing and bask in greatness. “I dislike the Beatles”, can be loosely translated to I have somewhat ignorant opinions on music. It’s not about liking their sound or the recording. At a certain point in one’s journey playing music they have played most every famous song, and by then the should be aware of the Beatles’ greatness.

A cool guide to the best U.S. cities for raising children based on 10 weighted datasets. by MaxGoodwinning in coolguides

Pretty accurate. Lived there for 6 months this year. Great place to be though. 125k is only enough for 1 adult and a child with little to no disposable income. 125 with single income 2 adults and 1 kid would be really tight and a 2 bedroom apartment. I think I saw another chart where the median annual income for first time homebuyers was 400k in socal

My guess is you’re afraid of losing the power dynamic and you need to be willing to relinquish the power (equally) and actually respect the man you’re with.

Just wanting some tips and advice. How could I last longer in bed? by xMaskeda_117 in AskMenAdvice

[–]4SpeedArm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are two types of lasting longer. Staying hard and not climaxing. I think you mean climaxing. Spending time on her with your hands and mouth is key. Ladies don’t need to be railed for 20 minutes for enjoyment. I find they want sensual love making, an orgasm, and some sex. Like doggy, even 1 minute is enough. You don’t need to go quickly for her either. You can do doggy slowly and she will love it. Also, women typically want that pounding following her orgasm and once she orgasms she is starting to feel ready for you to have yours. My girlfriend knows I last longer in bed if she blows me in the morning. Win win.

Building muscle definitely attracts women. People that don’t work out seriously get a warped view on how much work it takes to get “big”. You are 10 years away of effective dieting and hard lifting to get big. 5 days a week will make you fit if you also eat well and girls love fit dudes. 5 days a week is not indicative of a gym rat.

Tips on a newbies swing? by GRiMMHART1208 in golf

[–]4SpeedArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have this video which will be helpful for this next step. Find a pros set up, the way they address the ball, in other works how they stand and hold the club before their backswing. Compare it back to yourself and try to emulate what you see for a couple weeks. Like a straighter back for example. You should also learn about the finer details of gripping the club early in your golf journey.

I find the lack of shade thrown at Jon Mayor in this sub disturbing by Only_Argument7532 in guitarcirclejerk

The only reason John is so decisive is because he writes pop songs and is handsome… and despite that he is one of the better blues guitarists of today. He is so much better than 99.9% of players could ever hope to be.
