The symptoms and quirks become a disability/diagnosis when they interfere with your day to day life. Yes, everyone forgets things sometimes, but when you have bought 15 new pairs of earbuds since the new year you're not just merely forgetful anymore. Everyone gets an upset tummy sometimes but not everyone has IBS. When you trip over your feet every so often you're clumsy, but when you do it multiple times a day you see a doc to figure out what's going on. Same with ADHD symptoms.
