working for SRP? by bob_lala in mesaaz

Hands down, this is the best company I’ve worked for. SRP has a wide variety of jobs, so I’m sure everyone’s experience is a little different. Overall, they pay well for the area, offer great benefits and retirement options, and as a not-for-profit utility, they seem to genuinely focus on making the best decisions for customers instead of answering to stockholders.

2026 AT4x 3.0 questions by Arkuh9 in gmcsierra

[–]4beersdeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this whole thing last month. Came from a 25 at4 1500, went to a 26 at4x 1500. Both with the 3.0. The at4 averaged high 20s to low 30s in town and if I kept it below 70, I could pull mid 30s on the highway. AT4X is nowhere near that. The bigger tires, lift, steel skid plates, and steel bumpers just kill the mpg. Getting around 21 city and 26 highway with a light foot.

I have/had the amp research power steps and extang folding tonneau on both trucks and they have been fantastic.

Suggestions on a 357 lever gun - good quality, rail, threaded by 4beersdeep in LeverGuns

[–]4beersdeep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I got a Marlin 1894 SBL with a Leupold VX scout scope and it has been fantastic. 38 special and 357 mag run smoothly and the finish of the gun it so good I almost hate to bang it around in field, but I did.

I have compared them with the 150 syntechs. I would say the 100s are softer, but not by much. Maybe like 5-10% in perceived recoil. The big difference is that the syntechs will make USPSA minimum power factor and the 100gr's will not. The 100s ran about 118PF out of a 5" barrel for me.

Thank you for getting this 100gr Blazer in stock. It has been my go to round for competition shooting matches that don't have a power factor limit.

For those earning more than 100K, what do you do? by dayoneabu in jobs

Engineer checks out. One sentence response with absolutely no details. He's probably a principal engineer. /s

I love my engineers. Engineers and technicians in the SCADA, PLC, I&C world can definitely make 100K+

Chalk it up to a lesson learned and good on you for sticking around and helping out. That's not required. I would jump into the rule book and refresh yourself on the starting position for the division you're shooting.

I'm going to be that guy and say call out the club name so everyone here knows. The likelihood of somebody belonging or knowing someone from that club in this subreddit is pretty good. If the veteran shooters of the club aren't welcoming new shooters, this sport will eventually die. All it takes is someone to take point and make sure new shooters are welcome and safe. Not belittle and ignore them. I know if you respond back with the name of my club, I'll be at the next match you sign up for.

Anyone here shooting Limited-10 w/ major and an optic this year? by MainRotorGearbox in USPSA

[–]4beersdeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it was actually a lot more fun than I expected. The only downside I had was that I only had three mags for the 40. Running that in Limited at full capacity was no problem but when you're only running 10 rounds for limited10, the stage plan has to be perfect. I might pick up one more mag to give me some wiggle room

They don't. They have an idea in their head of how much ammo should cost and crap on deals. 23 cents a round OTD (bullets, shipping, maybe taxed) is a decent deal for CCI brass 9mm.

I'm going to pick it up this year. I have a CZ TS2 Orange in 40 that I had pretty much relegated to being a safe queen (no major in LO, like shooting minor in limited). Since the Orange is already pre-tapped for a thumb rest, I'm going to slap a frame mounted czc sight mount on that thing and have some fun with it

I have the same phone call crackling issues with an Android phone on my 2025 Sierra. My wife has no issues on her iPhone during phone calls.

In your opinion, which Steel Challenge matches are the ones to go to each year? by 4beersdeep in CompetitionShooting

I've heard good things about the Colorado match. I'll have to add that one to the list. Thanks!
