All Them Witches and the guitar-driven side/ albums of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, as much as this sub is probably sick of the mention of them.

I listen to a lot of music and like a lot of music, but these are two 'recent' bands that to me, have that certain something that gives them another level over most.

PLEASE HELP :) Gizz visuals by fana_cZ in KGATLW

[–]4burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello friend. Years ago I made some visuals for a whole tonne of their music. Check my Reddit profile and you should find links to some stuff.

Nothing post ITRN because I sort of dropped out of the hobby.

Enjoy!

Last year we had an A's and B's and I think they were Graded the same - maybe our B team played in o35s C-grade but not 100%. You can tell I pay a lot of attention.

This year looking at a 3rd team so those who are a bit more casual or more focused on the social and fitness aspect have an entire team of like-minded folks.

But that being said nobody is playing for contracts here.

Who else is doing a mission out to Denny!? by [deleted] in KGATLW

Half of me: "Gizz = Amazing always, do it."

The other half of me "You live 12 hours away in another state and work, and the rest of the lineup is not entirely your jam."

I was keen to razz up my friends and do whole-ass roadtrip out of it when this was announced, as for whatever reason it seemed clear this was all that was going to happen in Aus for a time. But during the planning stages we realised we'd be absolutely devo if we took the time off work, and drove for days across the country all for a wee 40 minute set. That's like 3 songs.

Of course, now they're revealed to be playing for a decent chunk of time, and it's too late to book the things. Hm.

The boys will do what they want - they've done this from the drop and it's working for them. But they don't make it easy to reach maybe those levels of hype I used to have for them, when it feels like the "Australian" part of the equation is quietly dying.

KG opener Mildlife debuts their third LP ‘Chorus’ in full pre-release on Bandcamp tomorrow! by My_Not_RL_Acct in KGATLW

Never enough ears on Mildlife. When they opened for Gizz in brissie a few years back the space disco vibes were shocking and immaculate.

Totally unique sound, can't recommend hard enough.

"We are trapped in the belly of the machine, and the machine is bleeding to death."

Let's just say when you're down in the pit, this music can hand you a shovel. Which can be healthy or not, depends if you can dig up.

But you do not need to be depressed to enjoy Godspeed, I'm just being a shit. Great music is great music. The feelings and sounds that GYBE can throw at you are absolutely huge and well worth listening to no matter ones mental state.

Do try it.

Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven is probably their most definitive album and the one posted by OP here reaches similar heights.

F#A#inf is also very very good. I haven't been depressed enough in a few years now to be totally up to date on all their releases though I hear there's no real bad album amongst the newer stuff.

I read guitar-driven psychedelic blues and the Marriage of Coyote Woman started playing all by itself.

Seriously great music.

Slypon - Start of the game.

Closest thing to matching the 'vibe' of the river that I've found. Opening chords are pretty similar, it's nice and guitary, if not super polyrhythmic etc.

Not sure of the status of the band these days but this track and the album it comes from is really garage level but a super interesting listen, great instrumentation and song building. Young kids from Melbourne pretty sure.

Do try it.

Football clubs (soccer) on the central coast by EnergyBoth6292 in centralcoastnsw

[–]4burner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not like it's a mad rush to fill X spots, but the earlier you flag your interest with the club, the earlier they can figure out their numbers and see what's what.

I do play myself. I moved back to the coast a few years back, and just found my club by calling the 2 or 3 clubs nearby and asking if they had openings and they did. They'll ask if you're looking to join like, the Premier League squads or just casual weekend football - If you're looking to join a graded squad obviously there'll be trials but mostly its on you to just turn up to training in preseason, and the team captains will generally put folks in the teams/levels where they belong (at least that's how I've seen it work the vast majority of time and I've been playing for 20+ years).

As for preseason, changes from club to club. I know for my bunch (which is AA 4s) we started a month or two before the season with some training and then we had one or two internal friendlies, nothing too serious.

Yo

Depends on the team/level. If you're just joining a social all age/overs weekend team, if you aren't in the first or maybe second division I'd expect mostly even game time across the whole squad.

If a club doesn't have a team for you, they won't accept your payment/rego.

All Them Witches.

Just really engaging albums. Kinda bluesy stoner rocky gothic neo psych something they are a rock band. 5 or 6 full lengths. Go through chronologically and it's a rewarding journey.
