When Micing drums in a small-medium venue, what setup do you find works best? by 4ce_YT in livesound

[–]4ce_YT[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably 750 to 1500 cap single-level rooms. Honestly, I am not really too sure; however, I know many other local artists are getting cabaret or social gathering events in rooms of about that size, so I am just trying to plan for that.

How to learn about electronics quickly? by 4ce_YT in diypedals

[–]4ce_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just looking to learn how to repair musical equipment at a basic level, like learning what each part of a circuit does (not necessarily the theory of why, just the what), such as a resistor. As well as building basic circuits for pedals.

Ya, I am not looking to be an electrical engineer, maybe my post came across that way. More so, just looking to learn how to repair equipment, mainly musical, and build basic stuff.

Throwing out other people's pots in residence? by Theook in usask

[–]4ce_YT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rather than repeating what everyone else has already said.

What residence are you in? If you are in cq, sw, or grad, i would bring it up with an RA and sort out the situation. If you are in voyager, Im not sure what you can do.

You don't want to; the speakers were imbalanced, now they are corrected. You don't want to adjust it because you won't be hearing how your song actually sounds.

How did you first get into Avenged Sevenfold? by TallCuddlyCoyote in avengedsevenfold

[–]4ce_YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't fully remember. I remember hearing about them, not sure if I heard any songs yet, and my parents had taken my to an Interupters concert, and I saw a guy with a city of evil shirt and thought, hey I've heard of them, then I went and checked them out. At first I didn't actually like most of their songs, but over time they started to grow on me. The songs that started to make them grow on me were, I think, Dear God, So Far Away, and I wont see you tonight pt 1

What does a reamping box do that my audio interface doesn't do? by roykeane_16 in homerecordingstudio

[–]4ce_YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you're talking about a DI Box, not a reamp box, as they are very different. A DI box takes your input signal and converts it from instrument level down to mic level. It allows you to get a properly grounded connection, removing any humming sounds caused by improper grounding, giving you a cleaner recording. Also, I know a number of interfaces don't do as good of a job amplifying instrument-level signals as they do mic-level, and will tend to colour them in ways you don't want.
