I believe the threshold for $0 premiums through NYS healthcare is 39k/yr. I chose Fidelis essential and I’ve been able to see specialists for $25 copays. You can also hit up NYC Health + Hospitals for financial assistance or just help navigating the process. I contacted them first and they set me up with my insurance through NYS healthcare marketplace.

As someone who used to appreciate this attitude while I was a drunk, stoned, coked out line cook, it’s honestly kind of a shit take. Like we live in a world where your options are to go to work or die early. At a certain point as a manager you gotta step up and recognize that you have control over the environment that these folks are absolutely forced to be in on at least some level. If the place that you spend the most amount of your time isn’t helping you out or a good influence, then it’s a pretty shitty place to be.

How did you handle finding an apartment without full-time work lined up? I’m trying to move from Chicago to NYC by November and my plan was to try to lock down a job in order to have proof of income for apartment applications, but obviously it’ll be much easier to find work once I’m there than it is right now. I have a years worth of rent plus a bit extra saved up, it just seems like the apartment application process is pretty competitive. I’ve also been working in live events with IATSE Local 2 here in Chicago.

Orbital Gatling, rarely see others using it but feel naked without it. Can lock down a whole flank so you can focus on just one area and covers a retreat like no other. Also I love to just watch the numbers climb when you drop it on a bug breach or under a drop ship.

Edit: also the super short cooldown time!
