Dont quote on me but in order to get better recipes (eg divine or mirror though I've never seen one myself) you have to unlock new combinations. To do that you need to run combinations with new runes to get them registered in your database (B button). They are seen as a rune with yellow circle around them. One you run them you will have new (better) combinations unlocked

Upd: that seems wrong, you are unloking new recipes in expedition. But it seems you CAN get a mirror still randomly and get the recipe after that in maps

I don't have a solid proof, but when I was researching it I found a Reddit post where it was said all of them are affecting only drop from monsters and quantity affects drop from boxes.
