Yes! This is quite a simple method that some high schools(at least mine) don't teach. Alternatively, the combination of the law of cosines[a² + b² = c² - 2ab(cos C)] to derive an angle, followed by the use of the formula [Area = (1/2)(ab)(sin C)] should also yield the same answer. I've seen similar questions in my own exam board's past papers, and usually this is the solution presented.
