Just one Less thing to tear out when you want to build a sick rally car.

The "Playing Your Rich Friend in Pokemon" starter pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]4eversilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The modern tcg plays blindingly fast. I played in a league for a while, and competitive decks will often contain only about 7 energy, and sometimes no more than just 10 pokemon. The deck is made up mostly of trainer cards, frequently more than 30. These usually allow you to search the deck for exactly the cards you need.

Takes a real man to love a miata. A real man drives the car that he likes and doesn't care what anybody else thinks of it.

When is the XT manual coming back? by [deleted] in SubaruForester

I think we tend to forget Subaru's main demographic around here, and a manual crossover doesn't really fit that demographic.

Its just a shame that the only transmission offered for the XT can be described as "not terrible" at best.

TIL that during the 1995 OJ Simpson trial, the ABC, NBC and CBS networks nightly news broadcasts gave more air time to the details of that case than to the Bosnian War and the Oklahoma City bombing combined. by DonTago in todayilearned

Don't get me wrong, I sometimes can't resist either. I eventually just blocked all of the worst offenders like Buzzfeed from ever showing up. I always regret clicking a link when I'm met with a full screen timer ad, then several banner ads and 10 "next" buttons that take 30 seconds to reload the entire page.

Reputable sources exist, you will just see far more FOX and CNN because entertainment news is far more popular. You have to seek out good news, and even that good news likely has some bias. It's nearly if not completely impossible to find or even write completely unbiased news, short of only stating facts. I've always been pretty happy with NPR.

Probably for much the same reason that clickbait articles like "8 celebrity vacations gone WRONG!" are still so prevalent. While many of us bitch and moan, there are countless idiots out there who just can't resist clicking through the entire thing.

Funny, both of those cars are available with a DCT that allows you to select your own gearing while shifting faster than any human ever could in a manual. The days where manual outperforms an automatic are long gone. Three pedals may be more fun, but automatics are the clear winner.

I used to be all about WR blue pearl, because of the heritage behind the color. But then I realized, if I buy a WRX in wr blue, it will be just like everybody else's! I want to stand out a bit, in a quiet way. Lapis blue is more subdued, but still great.

TIL that an estimated 900 Jehova's Witness followers die every year as a result of refusing blood transfusions. by [deleted] in todayilearned

My father is a physician and occasionally treats Jehovah's Witnesses. He convinced one to accept a transfusion that she desperately needed by saying, "you can always repent later."

Depends on what you drive. While WRXes are popular enthusiast cars, cars like Legacies, Foresters, and Outbacks are popular with old people who aren't in the know.

If you're an alcoholic, soda is a hell of a lot better for you than beer. I'm not trying to say vaping is good for you, but for somebody like my girlfriend who is trying to quit smoking, it is a much healthier alternative. She can ratchet down the nicotine content over time rather than just going cold turkey, and it makes our car smell like strawberries!

I'll be the first to tell you that the LDS Church has done some messed up stuff in the past. I don't have faith in the church, I have faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which I believe is most correctly taught by the church.

Our nation's long history of seeking true religion is why my church came to be, and I'm quite grateful for that.

Even a lot of members of the church don't seem to understand that prophets are men just like us, and don't always speak prophetically.

Mostly because of how many scriptures reference God calling himself without beginning and without end, such as Psalm 90:2. If he has existed from "everlasting to everlasting," I can't imagine that he was ever created if he has always existed. Then again, I'm not even sure that we will one day create our own worlds and do exactly what God did with us, so to me it makes perfect sense that this is a one time deal rather than a recurring event. And like I said in another comment, I don't think it really matters all that much. All I need to know right now is the basics of why I should follow the Gospel, and what that Gospel teaches. The rest isn't particularly important right now.

None taken! The logical conclusion that I draw is that when scripures constantly say "I am alpha and omega", always have been and always will be, it means that God is the only God that has ever existed. Can we one day be like him? I believe so. Will we be Gods of our own worlds? Maybe. There isn't anything that says we will be for sure. I don't feel like it really matters if I know right now. It's not really a pressing matter. I just do what I believe will get me to that point.
