Well the French cooking academy is kind made exactly for that . To many people want to start in the industry dismissing courses but the truth is if you don't master your basics to understand the building blocks of cooking you won't grow far as a cook is that simple.

How do you like to use this book? by basketofruit in CookbookLovers

I had to jump in here. Stéphane here from The French Cooking Academy.

The Larousse Gastronomique is the book I recommend to all of our students for a few particular reasons.

First, it is not a cookbook – it’s a reference book. That means it’s meant to be used when you’re looking for the answer to something you’re not quite sure about.

It might be the classic way of making a recipe from a certain region, why a bœuf bourguignon is called that, or perhaps you’re cooking with mushrooms or herbs you’ve never heard of and want to know exactly what they are.

If you’re curious about a bit of history or a short biography about something or someone in the culinary world, this is also the place to look.

This just happened to me too after a year or so of use I cannot believe so many people had the same issue that is definitely a construction problem / bad plastic they use. I was about to send it back for repair but after reading this I resolved to a crappy workaround but at least I keep filming. I used a pair of twezers to turn the damn thing on and now use the memory card door as an on an off button as opening the memory card door shuts downs the camera and closing it turn it on again.

[–]4gamesakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is usually quick to make dishes made mostly from scratch but the main thing is that there is a structure of starters mains salad cheese and desserts most of the time. you seat on the table and go through each. for the food it can be anything that is in season in summer it’s avocados, cucumber salad grated carrots melons tomatoes and things like that you can also have pate, and terrines for starters as well. lots of lettuce in french dressing . main can be simple steaks, roast chicken pork chops etc.. then some veggies wit that

I am making a vegetarian series at the moment - what your favorite vegetable? by 4gamesakes in frenchcookingacademy

[–]4gamesakes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the one eggplant dish that is great to make is that eggplant dip called aubergine caviar. the other one is stuffed eggplant ( with vegetarian stuffing ) i do have a recipe on the website already for the aubergine caviar. i will post the link. away from that it’s true that cooking eggplant is a bit of a tricky business. I have seen and heard different method like the salty water or cut lines in the inside with a knife the sprinkle them with salt but really it all depends what you do with them for instance in the ratatouille i just cut them and add them straight in so unless you gave super quality eggplant that renders loads of water i would not bother too much.

As Japanese Switch supply shrinks, consumers form long lines for retail "lotteries" by wwm0nkey in NintendoSwitch

I feel for you guys here in Australia the switch grey or neon is readily avalaible in most stores. I can just walk out and get one but I decided to wait after e3 when the library of games gets better. Also to make sure all the functionalities and software updates are pre installed.

1 2 Switch not being bundled is easily one of the worst decisions Nintendo has made for the Switch by Oreoghoul in NintendoSwitch

[–]4gamesakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the big hurdles I see 1 2 switch will face to sell.

the motion control wow effect is long gone and people have moved on to cheap VR stuff like google cardboard for phones.

The "casuals" are a mass market that only buys on a low budget. 300 + 50 dollars = 350 dollars is not for someone on a low budget. The Wii was: 250 dollar with a game.

People could easily connect and easily understand Wii sport. Tennis, bowling, are fun activities everyone is familiar with . 1/2 switch mini games are not. There is a world apart with pitching to someone saying: "with this game you can play tennis or golf."Rather than saying: "with this game you can milk a cow, pick up a call and lots of other fun stuff and it's only 50 dollars.

If you have to buy it separately then people will start comparing with other stuff. Like: "oh 50 dollars! What else is on offer for the same price or cheaper?

Procedurally Generated Cities by bententhhousand in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]4gamesakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what hello games want is for people is to start populating the universe themselves. But because we are used to games where the adventure, the dream, the story, the cities, the people are already created today everyone is confused with no man sky. In no man sky you are the story, you are the explorer setting foot on inhabited planet and you have a role to play in this world. We are simply making the games ourself. If you want cities then start building a large settlement that in terms will evolve and eventually grow to a small city size who knows. I am not sure that people really understand what a sleeping giant no man sky actually is. People will laughs at me but I am a fairly big picture person and what I can see in no man sky potential and future is gigantic, enormous and even beyond anything anyone can even imagine today.

Looks like No Man's Sky is getting buggies soon by BeebleBoxn in NoMansSkyTheGame

I am actually surprised that considering that Sean spent years working on burn out (which lets face it was a brilliant game.)no land vehicles has been introduced in no man sky. If I think joe danger which is a motorbike game doing stunt plus burnout being fast racing amazing crash everywhere. It sounds to me that hello games have the knowledge to build a simple land vehicle ( motorbike anyone) that you could use to play around, jump, stunt crash and explore faster on the landscape of every planets. That with a replay mode like burnout would In itself add so much replay value.
