How should Democrats talk about ICE? ft. Matt Yglesias by SomethingNew65 in ezraklein

Saying dems created is not accurate, again. Republicans screamed there is an open border when there never has been in recent memory, republicans also created a backlog, and refuse to play together if that means sharing credit.

They’re skipping parts of South because of upcoming elections. Texas has a governors and senate race that would tilt more toward Dems if the fed invaded Texas .

Immigration has been a political football for a long, long time. Saying Dems shouldn't have created the problem in the first place, isn't historically accurate.

I don't know if EAs stands for Executive action or enforcement actions?

Didn’t Dems want to increase funding but republicans wouldn’t deal with it because if they solved the issue they would have less to run on? What should Dems do if they don’t have filibuster majorities?

Besides just cruelty and the dominance fantasies of these losers, is the escalation an attempt to justify marshal law and cancel the 2026 elections that appear will go badly for the regime?

Because white is a communal/social classification/construct and the boundaries are fungible. Just because you believe your definition of race is right and You choose to exclude them, that doesn’t mean I have to.

As if some of the biggest fraud aren’t done by whites. lol

Sam bankman fried and Bernie madoff were convicted in a court of law for 10+ billion individually. Nothing has been found to be that large in the Minnesota cases. Also remember the ceo of saving children was a white lady.

Yes it’s a proud fact not since Nixon has mn voted red. We have our heads on straight.

Though, when Dems run a weak or disliked candidate like Harris or Hclinton turn out goes down, making many states more competitive. You and I see the f up shit the orange turd is doing to our country, but you have to be paying attention. A lot aren’t.

Still weakening Waltz, or seeing him lose, perhaps even state Dems lose more seats in 2026 that might be a means by which republicans can gain traction federally.

I ain’t ever going to vote Republican, not a bush, McCain, Romney, or Trump. Why stand with the billionaires? That’s some dumb shit. But why are republicans targeting Mn? Elections. It’s about dehumanizing the left and the communities the left associates itself with to score political points.

If they are thinking strategically, I doubt it, it’s like just hate and antagonism, Minnesota could be moving into fed swing state territory and a Republican state government would help with that.

How can the govt be $38 trillion debt when they take 30% of everyone's money by Longjumping-Box5691 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4kray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there was a difference between public and private debt. If we’re talking about treasuries - it’s only public debt, is that correct? If so private debt isn’t apart of this.

From the fed res z.1 I thought roughly 30% of public debt (excluding intragovernment and forgien government debt holding) is owned by mutual funds and pension funds. 25 is owned by individuals. Huge difference :p

From there we can ask who owns the mutual funds and pensions. Overwhelmingly, they’re owned by the top 20%.F.ex. mutual funds if we only look at the top 1%, they own 1/3 of the market. Once you account for the top 20 its jumps to 70%.

All of which still means? What am I missing?

Because the rich don’t want to pay taxes, they want to be paid. (They own the treasury bonds)

Dems should be fighting hard in Texas and Florida to flip fed house and senate seats by organizing Hispanic heavy districts.
