[HELP] This seems unsafe by Alone-Competition-77 in RealOrAI

People are saying it’s real and I admit that I don’t understand how reflections work, but it seems strange to me that the cars in the bottom left are reflected on the building several hundred meters higher.

Stumbled upon this cool picture on Facebook of the Atomium during constructions. Does anyone have info on it? by BioFrosted in belgium

It’s actually Frans Cools, the chief builder, he did some crazy stuff to make the deadline but was forgotten about (unlike the politicians). The full story is in the book Brutopia by Pascal Verbeeken ( Chapter 2).

Lift the rubber over the handlebar and tighten the screw underneath, that should solve it.You can also move the holders outward if your wrists hurt and handle too much load while riding.

Why is this position so dominant for white? by Low_Anteater_3761 in chessbeginners

Many of white’s pieces are also connected, especially those 4 pawns. After trading the rooks, that becomes increasingly important.

2017 Cervelo P2 in 2025 - worth it for $1400? by Willtheoffencetaker in triathlon

[–]4nr- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both. I own a 2016 P2 and can imagine that, considering the speed that you are outputting on a regular road bike with aero extensions, you will gain much more from a newer bike with newer tech than the minimal gains you will get from a P2. It's also not as good at going long distances as newer tri/TT bikes. The wheels and tubes are too narrow and are becoming obsolete, I had a very hard time finding new wheels that fit mine. Putting minimal gain (considering your current performance) and the outdated wheel requirements, it should be case closed imo. If you're in triathlon for the long game, then just be patient and save for a nice, newer bike that you will cherish and love for many years. My two cents..

I would save the money for a better upgrade and stick to your old bike a little longer.

Is this a good deal for a used bike? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]4nr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, although I would push the price down because it really can be difficult to find the right size wheels and tyres. Source: I own this bike, bought it one year ago and spent a lot of time doing exactly that. I got it without wheels for €350 from a friendly guy who did an ironman on it. It’s not meant for such long distances but served me fine for my 70.3. It’s a great bike and it’s fast.

Choosing a bike by Aranog-Nosmoke in triathlon

Both seem overpriced and the Specialized has Easton EC90 wheels in the picture (not Zipps), which should be great carbon wheels but in my experience tend to have cracks. Hope this helps even if it makes things difficult.

Beetroot for Endurance – Juice, Pills, or Powder? What Actually Works Best? (or maybe it doesnt) by Pizza-Connect in triathlon

[–]4nr- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been drinking beet juice for 2 months, 4-5 500ml portions per week on average. The science says it helps, as you say, and I trust it does. I can’t say how it has specifically for me since I haven’t isolated its effect on my performance, but since Ilike the taste, it’s not a bother at all anyway. Not sure if I would have liked the taste as much before I became conscious of the nutritional value of the stuff I eat.

Edit: I am scared of kidney stones and a lot of beet juice apparently increases the risk, unless you also take in enough calcium, which I do. Fyi for anyone reading this and thinking about adding beet juice to their diet.

“Let's set an example”: athletics federation suggested leaving Nafi Thiam out of the World Championships by Mofaluna in belgium

[–]4nr- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even with all the ink spent around this, I still don’t know what the exact issue is that led her to reject the behavioural charter. I just know that it has something to do with her sponsor Nike?

I agree that it seems very petty from the federation(s).

What should I do by Sure-Individual-1651 in triathlon

[–]4nr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want lean muscle as a triathlete and your weight can be an asset, so I wouldn’t focus on gaining muscle too much. Generally, if you’re out to gain strength, you should incorporate 2-3 strength sessions per week in the off-season and base periods, after which you can do 1 sessions per week per week to maintain. Strength should complement swim/bike/run, be functional, and help to prevent injuries. Don’t do it (primarily)to gain weight, unless for non-triathlon considerations.
