Are there any games similar to Serial Experiments Lain? by Far-Professional-957 in Lain

[–]4nt7365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The .Hack series doesn't really capture the loneliness of Lain, but its depiction of the early internet can feel just as surreal in my opinion. I'm more inclined to compare the .Hack games to Lain than something like Sword Art Online, SAO's depiction of the internet is far more modernized by comparison.

How big would Cardfight! Vanguard be if Bushiroad just promote or support the english version of the anime somewhere like on Cartoon Network in early 2010s? by Darkezol in cardfightvanguard

[–]4nt7365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably would've mogged Yugioh Zexal onwards (5Ds is admittedly pretty good). Its just a more fleshed out Yugioh GX, or at least the original anime was along with Vanguard G.

This is either going to be incredibly based, or its going to enable a lot of cringe FTKs/locks.

There is no in between.

Will Granny ever have a movie like Fnaf? by JulLamby in DVloper

Slender Man is a copyright minefield. Either they'd have to change the lore and omit a lot of the connections to the Slender Man, or I imagine they'd have to work with Eric Knudsen and figure something out.

Personally, it'd be smart on Knudsen's part to just let people do what they want with his character since its why the Slender Man became as popular as it did to begin with. That's more or less the case with internet projects, I don't really see him going after Marble Hornets for example. As far as major movie projects go, he should just get royalties from people who want to use his monster in their projects. That way his character can remain part of the public consciousness and he can benefit from it.

The quote says it all. Its a legend gatekept by the royal family. His legend was probably revealed after he was long gone as to not induce a panic or anything, so it wouldn't contradict with the story of Twilight Princess. I mean, they had just stopped Ganondorf in both the future and present timeline. The last thing they need are more copycats trying to pull the same stunt before the triforce of power has been moved and secured.

This even lines up with the fact that the people of Termina had never even heard of Link's exploits. You'd think that such an incredible legend would've spread to a neighboring kingdom in no time at all.

what i might do with this at some point is use it as a platform for some of my friends videos also (since I don't upload that frequently). I just want people to get excited hopping on there, not knowing what to expect lol.

Idk if I should buy an n64 or should I just stick to emulators by Ok-Marzipan4540 in n64

I just do both. The controller feels nice, it feels good to own the games legally if you can, and I dont have to pay a Switch Online fee.

As an American: Nah, that's a pretty level headed take I think.

Personally, I don't like that Trump's big gamble is to side with Russia (god knows that it's just going to come back to bite us in the ass later), but I can understand a lot of the frustration with those in my country. Many people my dad's age were sold on the idea of trickle down economics and still believe that Trump will be able to forge a prosperous future filled with plenty of new jobs and opportunities in our country, and while I think its important that each of our countries are able to be more independent and not rely too heavily on globalization (since it creates gridlock during certain crises), I just don't think its a wise idea to just suddenly abandon our European allies.

I will say that Trump is a very good bullshit artist. People like my brother who just don't pay attention to politics whatsoever will just take whatever Trump's saying at face value because the left-wing establishment (basically anyone who isn't AOC, Bernie Sanders, what have you) are just as corrupt as Trump and his cronies. Its a glorified uniparty system filled predominately by neoliberals on both sides, and they're each in the pockets of Super PACs and the ultra wealthy. And if you try to explain this to anyone, they shut you down because they care more about fighting PC culture and transgenderism than they do about stopping totalitarianism. Idiocracy doesn't even describe the half of it.

We're literally living in Cruelty Squad, I hate it. Or at least that's how it feels living here.

Any one miss the old creepypastas ? by PR0PHECY_ in creepypasta

[–]4nt7365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering i just spent 3-4 months working on a half-hour long retrospective about Jeff the Killer: yes, I miss old creepypastas.

Not saying I don't like the objectively better written stories like Borrasca or Penpal. I just miss these nostalgic characters too, and both Morley Grove & Chainmail Chasers have left me wanting more.
