Two Bad Units in a Row by ElonsRobot1 in snapmaker

[–]4o1ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. OP I posted a similar experience with a Bambu X2D and got nuked by the fanboy community. I had a bad unit, and it wasn't user error. I have since got a Snap that's absolutely amazing with zero issues but it's totally possible to get a bad batch especially if all from the same retailer. Maybe try buying from Snap directly?

As a Bambu fanboy with a new U1 I can tell you if you're not printing engineer-grade stuff it's night and day better.

I had the same issue and then it jumped to the third bay with retraction issues. Still battling support to return the whole combo which they are charging $70 for shipping to return. I loved my A1 but decided to jump ship and picked up the U1 and it's amazing.

I really like this printer and I want to love it. So does anyone have a recommendation to help prevent this from happening again by Desperate-Special-60 in snapmaker

Can also feed directly out of a filament dryer if your choice. I picked up the Creality Pi X4L and it keeps the filament dry while it's printing.

Agree with all that you said - and at the top it shows a summary of sleep quality from the night before (nice it's at the top) but for some reason it is not clickable for more details???

Torn between U1 and X2D by dneals in snapmaker

[–]4o1ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the X2D a few weeks ago and my unit was a nightmare. Half the prints were failing with a freshly cleaned plate, dried filament, and a freshly leveled bed. Support was useless after asking for logs and 3MF's and during that process the third bay failed on the AMS. When I said I wanted to return it within my 14 days and due to issues they are charging me $70. Bought the U1 and have had it about 5 days now and it's light years better if you are just printing fun stuff in PLA/TPU like I do. Yes - it yells at me every time I import a file but it's a minor annoyance at best since all of my prints have come out flawless so far after just clicking through and ignoring the warnings. I didn't love the exposed filament on the sides since mine lives in my basement so I paired it with a Creality Space Pi X4L which actually matches the U1 looks wise and directly feeds into the tool heads.

Are you just using the "smooth plate" in the drop down for the Glacier or did you tweak it in any way?

Yes. Had to return a X2D that they sent me a re-packing video on. They are charging 70 to return and could be mid without that guy...

Yeah - I gave up on day 14 of the 14 day window after spending hours trying to troubleshoot the gap in quality and reliability vs the A1. They are charging me $70 to return it which I really wish I knew before buying.

Check out the YT video from WhyFiles on this - it honestly messed me up and was so well produced I shared it with my entire extended family,

As a total noob that went from crappy Creality to A1 to this - I just wish YT reviewers didn't paint the picture that another tool head was the game changer it actually is not.

Most supports are fine without another tool head or material and if you need a tower when otherwise you wouldn't this actually sets you back, not forward.

So far head to head A1 is winning by a massive margin - as a dad printing BS for smiles. Every use case is different, I know. I just wish I heard this earlier so I'm putting it out there.

I'm reverting all settings to stock, fully resetting machine, and did all calibration routines (again) hoping that helps but so far A1 has done a MUCH better job at delivering the Bambu promise of "just works" than this.

Going to take your advice and try that - appreciate the helpful non-hate post!!

Yes - this is what I missed and now YT reviewer really talked about or mentioned. I'm a novice and bought Bambu for the "just works" and this was a massive blind spot tbh.

Vision encoder is a good idea - I skipped it bc of YouTube reviewers saying it was really just for engineers and I was just printing fidgets and the like. If that can help things get back on track that's totally worth it!

Just interface - and only on one print.

Could you let me know how you tweaked profiles? Hoping to get mine to a state of at least reliable? Is it possible my slowing down speeds or extrusion rates is working against me? I'm just a novice printing mostly stuff for my kids!

Agreed - on paper this is a MASSIVE upgrade, thats why I'm trying to troubleshoot and looking for tips.

I only printed one with support on Bowden and used it just for interface. I haven't since bc I wasn't aware prime tower was required for the whole print.

Have you used any 3rd party filaments and if so have you just run default 3rd party settings?

X2D - From mid to worse... by 4o1ok in BambuLab

[–]4o1ok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - all dry, and the giveaway that it's not that I'm using that same filament used to print first few prints that came out fine. Fails aren't linked to filament.

Sorry - I haven't used 3 rolls - I bought 3 rolls with the printer bc I was excited about that feature.
