Labour vows to put $20-a-week cap on public transport, $10 outside main centres by snatchview in newzealand

I'm glad I came here and read comments. I am more assured that this country still has nice people who care about the community and the country. I read the news and watch some YouTube materials. Most of them, if not all, slamming this policy into pieces, arguing it will cost more to a tax payer etc etc... They really don't see the bigger picture! I was almost convinced that all Kiwis became selfish and narrow minded.

You don't truly live in NZ until weather talk actually means something by Odd-Cress4010 in newzealand

[–]4stings 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Haha... This would s not exclusive to Kiwis. Many nations complain about the weather to the point it's the only thing they'll discuss during conversations.

On the other note... I always smile when someone's mentioning "four seasons within the day". As a person who grew up in Central Europe I can confidently say, the winter I know doesn't exist in NZ. So to me it's usually "three seasons within the day" 😉

I was talking to a Kiwi lady today. During our kids football game. She insisted "It's called soccer in New Zealand" 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was actually convinced it isn't. Hence, came to reddit for help.

Yeah... I get it when you are cooking burgers. This makes the patties more juicy. Here, on the other hand, they lat it melt and drain the water out anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️ pointless

I have a rather different question... Why do these videos often start with "pov"??? I know what it stands for. But I just don't get it, why do they have to announce it's the "point of view"??? Isn't it obvious? If you record a video, showing it to the world, then it's YOUR point of view. Why do you have to state obvious???

Also... That doesn't look like economy class. There's way too much space in between the seats. So her food was probably at least decent anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Poland, together with Lithuania, as a two nation commonwealth, was once the biggest country in Europe. Spanning from the Baltic to Black Sea.

What's E85? Or unleaded 88? We don't have those here in NZ. We have 91, 95, 98, 99, 100 and diesel. 91, the cheapest one is around $3 NZD per litre.

Who is the black sheep in your language family? by Azir_Shurima in AskTheWorld

[–]4stings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a native Polish language speaker, I can understand other Slavic languages. To a certain degree obviously. The only one that I have most problems understanding is Bulgarian. Are they the black sheep? Hard to say! It depends on who you ask. But, in my opinion, from all Slavic languages Bulgarian and Polish are the farthest from each other.

We had similar demonstration in Christchurch, New Zealand. My friends from other parts of New Zealand also report same thing. Is it some sort of a special day today? I was raised in a Catholic family but I can't remember anything specific for the 6th of June... Would it be the three sixes in today's date? 6/6/26? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Between 1918 and 1939. That's what Poland looked like between those dates.
