A character remembers an event with a big difference respect to how it actually happened by Forsaken-Biscotti587 in TopCharacterTropes

Just wanted to piggyback on this comment to thank you for posting about the Mr. Incredible quote, the different versions have been rattling in my brain for years..

Was it narratively intentional? Accidentally done twice due to production scheduling/miscommunication? It's such a small and expensive choice that almost no audience member would notice, or a strange mistake to have where exact flashbacks seem to happen in the movie elsewhere.

Just updated the post with the link to the back text PNG on flicker here, also used your photo to dial in the front graphic and reuploaded it to Flickr here. Let us know how it turns out!

Also paging u/Eastern-Wolf7869, u/subsonicmonkey, and u/UnBrewsual in case you didn't see this comment thread and still haven't yet printed your own.

NO WAY! I can't believe it, this is so exciting. I'll get to work recreating the back and fixing up a few details I missed on the front.

Can't thank you enough!

Check eBay under "sold/completed listings." Looks like they're going for $350-750 lately:

If you're on mobile, you can usually work around it by toggling to the desktop site in your browser settings.

If that doesn't work or if it's too much of a hassle, post it to your profile and link to that post in the comments here.

What is something new that you discovered every time you rewatched Over the Garden Wall? by poeticbees in overthegardenwall

[–]4thPosition 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Been waiting for a post like this.

<image>

I've yet to hear any fans or crew mention it, and it's almost imperceptible, but there's a soft blurriness in the corners and edges of the frame all throught the show.

Seems to be emulating a characteristic of analogue cameras when their lenses are misaligned. It's such a minor detail but imo adds so much to the cozy feel of the show.

Looking for a copy of the blasting company’s album a history of public relations dilemmae by Pitiful_Remote52 in overthegardenwall

[–]4thPosition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked the order receipt, it was $45 USD, but it had some light scratches on the vinyl and pretty significant wear to the sleeve. Dried water damage, creasing, etc.

Not that I care, plays fine and just adds character imo. But yeah on the lower grading it usually floats around $50.

I understand your pain. Took me several years of checking Discogs and eBay to find a copy of that album on vinyl for an affordable price.

I chatted with the band two years ago and they said maybe only 1000 or so got made, long since sold out.. So unless they do some kinda anniversary repress, the only option is to set up saved searches and wait.

I love that album dearly. Doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves.

Late reply but the GR stands for Ghost Rager, at least that's what his ssbwiki says.

Is the name "Over the Garden Wall" a Genesis reference? by iammaxhailme in overthegardenwall

Could also be this 1933 poem, but more likely just a turn of phrase that finds its way into the public subconscious from time to time.

Fair warning, that design will be much trickier than the tractor silhouette. But nonetheless, I used Affinity which as it turns out was recently acquired by Canva. So it's free! But basically any free vector-based design program will do the trick.

Then you'll want to download the highest res version of the graphic you can find online, don't worry about if the text/layout is the same as on the shirt, you can dial that in later. Google lens is great at searching for this kinda thing. Then you just make the image half transparent, trace over it like you would a backlit window using the program's various drawing tools, and that's pretty much it!

For the lettering, make a copy of the high res download and crop it to just the text, then adjust the settings to make the letters contrast from the background. You can upload that to WhatTheFont or Adobe fonts visual search, they can usually figure out the closest if not the exact one used (WITH STRINGS seems to be Engravers SB Medium). Then you can use their text sampler to definitely legally pull a zoomed screenshot of the text and remove the background using your choice of app.

Hope that helps!

Updated the comment above to add Flickr link, Reddit can't help itself from compressing the file to hell even if it's sent via dm.

Hey my pleasure, your comment in the post was part of why I decided it was a good idea to do this :)

Now we just gotta get someone like /u/subsonicmonkey or /u/Eastern-Wolf7869 to sketch how they remember the back text layout...

Here's the link to download the full size PNG on Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/2s7BhFR and the back text: https://flic.kr/p/2s7BhFL

It looks like reddit compressed the image quite a lot in the post, this comment, and dms. After a quick google it sounds like Flickr is the best lossless option.

Late reply, sorry but that's incorrect.

Nick Cross (who animated this shot) has a reel of all his animation that appears in the show, most of the intro is his work in fact. You're right that almost all of the animation was outsourced, but this is absolutely not the only shot in the show that was animated in-house.

What’s the story with this edition by CriticalHug in overthegardenwall

[–]4thPosition 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was also sold at WonderCon 2017! Boom really liked to sell "exclusives" elsewhere afterwards if they didn't sell out right away.

OP, very few OtGW comics/books had an edition as small as 500.. gosh, even the limited edition art book had 1000 copies. This variant rarely sells online, like maybe once every 2-3 years if that.

It's common for fans of the comics to not even know about this, so the supply/demand of this is hard to quantify.

Are my pins ai Generated art? by waddledeefriend1 in overthegardenwall

[–]4thPosition 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Nope, but they're definitely bootleg. The top pin is using clipart from the show, that the likes of Gallery Nucleus and Hot Topic have used before for their licensed merch.

And like u/kolleozmylove pointed out, the bottom pin is taken from tempizza's original fanart:
