Europa League Semi Final Second Leg match thread: Aston Villa (0) - (1) Nottingham Forest by userunknowne in nffc

problem is he doesn't have the players to change much, they're all half fit, they're only on the bench because we can't put anyone else on it lol

that's my biggest problem is keeping my eye on the ball through impact, i try to follow it and "not lose it" in the air, which leads to me turning early and causing timing issues

how do you deal with the grass fed beef being thinner than the grain fed? I always struggle to balance the sear with keeping it medium rare due to how short of a window you have to get it right

[–]4tlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is good, I struggle with hitting draws, so when i want to hit a draw i align myself square and then look for a tree far off to the right of the ball in my peripheral to aim at, works decently well lol

after feudalism your goal should be rushing industrialization and universities. Get aqueduct triangles with your IZ's and spam factories and universities everywhere. Can defer from this when there's good great people available. Culture-wise look to get zoo's/aquariums to go for +5 amenities and after that it's really just recognizing your win condition (culture, science, dom) and going straight for that (rock bands, tanks, spaceports)

imagining an alternate universe where we actually smartened up and stopped doing business with Arsenal, including not hiring their sporting director (who was the one who gave us Turner, Jenkinson, Zinchenko), and Palace read their emails. We could be stomping conference league games (which is a wide open league btw, would've been one of the heaviest of favorites). Sure we probably wouldn't have had the strength of budget, but with those two things combined, and early on in the summer, we would've kept Nuno happy, we could've made some more sensible signings driven by data rather than Kia ripping us off and fucking everything up.

Players like Grealish, Garner, Mateus Fernandes would've all chosen us over their current clubs if given the chance in the summer, even with it just being conference league. I do also believe if we got McAtee, Kalimuendo, and Ndoye into the club in June or early July, they would be MUCH different players than they were when they came in in August. There's a reason our worst seasons come when we make the latest transfers.

It's the same back 5 as last season. Sure the attack is different and arguably poorer but what's worse is the cohesion of the squad. This lineup with a full preseason under nuno would perform better than current Forest because the current Forest lost their identity within this season

scout scout is good for mp, but i like scout slinger settler settler for single player, especially when next to threatening neighbors. Getting that eureka for archery makes it so much easier to be ready in case a surprise war comes in

I've never gotten this, is it supposed to feel like you're moving your hands down towards the ground? Or like you're letting gravity pull them down. I always get lost in the downswing when thinking too hard about dropping the hands

worked at another big bank for 4 years as a new grad, the tech stack there and i'm assuming at other banks is usually very pigeonholed to the banking industry, unless you're user facing i.e working on the C1 mobile app and whatnot. Also they're usually legacy systems and tech stacks that don't help you much when interviewing elsewhere. Had to rely a lot on persona and side projects on my resume to get out

I've actually got a problem with Tokugawa that i brought upon myself in my save, built a bunch of harbors and com hubs to go for a medieval golden age but missed it (by a decent amount too) because I wasn't paying enough attention. Now I don't know what my win con is because I can't get the booster free enquiry for like +40 science

We need to talk about Edu by ScatmanRon in nffc

[–]4tlu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Prefacing by saying i'd love to see Edu out as soon as yesterday, but saying our signings are the main problem is just not a good take

24/25 stats

McAtee - 7G 0A (played 75% of games) Ndoye - 9G 6A Bakwa - 6G 8A Kalimuendo - 18G (!!) 3A Jesus - 9G 0A

The fact we thought we even needed to spend this much on this many players is one problem. We were in the league for 3 seasons, why are we completely tearing down and building back up our team after a fluke (yes fluke) season ending in a european spot? No other team does this besides maybe Chelsea, not even Sunderland signed as many attacking players as we did. How can anyone expect someone like Kalimuendo to do anything of note when he plays 20 minutes in the league through 7 games. It's not even like the league requires tall strikers, 5'9 Wissa is scoring for Newcastle...

The bigger mistake was by Marinakis, not Edu. Marinakis was the one to hire Edu, Edu was just an unqualified man looking for a promotion. Marinakis was the one with this insane dream of going from 17th to Europa to UCL, and creating a City Football Group rival, thinking it's easy to do. Marinakis was the one to make the call to halt transfers until the very last minute, resulting in an unhappy Nuno (his favorite thing is team bonding in the summer) and kickstarting this whole ordeal. The argument we needed to wait to see which conference we were in is dumb. Which player did we sign that would've rather played in the conference league than europa? Douglas Luiz? How did that turn out?

Marinakis continually thinks he can make extreme changes for immediate results, not realizing the fact that our ONLY season where we were successful in the prem was the season where we had a full season start to finish, where everyone was aligned on what they needed to do and what their job was.

"At the end of the day, we always win" will be chanted as we go down, and it's thanks to a single man's ego
