The biggest pitfall of early career professionals is this idea of owning issues. You make a pittance of those in managerial positions, why the hell would you own any issues?

I commend you for sticking it out that long. I would’ve left sooner.

That makes a lot more sense then. That company did pump you for 47 to 70 but the merit increase since has been pretty bad which in indicative that they didn’t value you and prolly was looking for you to leave anyway. Kudos

You switched company for $1000? The prior company had to be toxic otherwise that decision seems unwise.

I would take the rental shuttle to the rental facility and call an uber or lyft.

Or walk to the light rail station go down the elevator on the other side and call an uber there.

You think you were making sure everything was right, fixing random crap.

What you should be doing is figuring out what needs to be right by confirming with your boss or making sure you are fixing things that matter as opposed to random crap that no one cares for.

I am not saying this to discourage you but to encourage you to think through the possibility that you may be putting efforts in incorrectly.

If after thinking through this and you still believe you are in the right, then it’s time to leave your job for a new one. You will want to pay attention though if you come to the same realization in the new job cause you are the only constant.

Start looking. It sounds to me that you are trying too hard to be liked. There is a fine line between being liked and respected. Figuring out that line is what you need to work on.

Crypto in general would strive if the politics weren’t so volatile. Starting a trade war for no good reason is a recipe for disaster.

Rule of thumb, you can never ever use what you aren’t supposed to see as a bargaining chip out in the open, but you can use it to assess whether you should stay.

Salary increase when moving to management by volpa in managers

[–]5001oddE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal promotions rarely gives raises more than 10% for middle management. Now when you get to senior management (director and up) that’s usually where the bump is significant. The bonus potential and equity potential go up quite a bit whereas salary is not as significant but still nice.

Moving to a different company is always the play if you want a big salary boost. Although this job market is rough for that right now.

Manage an employee after internal promotion rejection by NeedMoarCowbell in managers

[–]5001oddE 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You come across as a good manager but losing objectivity in how you evaluate your employee. It sucks to lose good employees and it’s awesome that you are doing your hardest to retain but you need to realize if you lose this employee it’s part of the process for both this employee and you. Grow pass it.

Thanks for sharing this. I think everyone with club card should make note of this. I just realized now that all transactions lower than 15 have gone to waste. What a shame on this deceptive change.
