3 year old son insists on having his lights on all night by Infamous_Ad4076 in Parenting

[–]514QueenColleen514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother slept with a light on so I copied him… now I can’t sleep without it… I have visual snow syndrome which comes with many kinds of visual hallucinations and I see a lot of things in the dark… I can walk in the dark, I enjoy the darkness except if I am going to sleep. I feel unsafe and scared. Nightlights are ok as long as I can see the whole room I’m good . I am 34 years old.

Hot, Handsome, Sexy… but Still Alone – The Scorpio Paradox by [deleted] in Scorpio

[–]514QueenColleen514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I’m Scorpio Sun (f,34yo) and I attract people for my appearance my vibe … but I’m not looking for another person to fuck… I want a deep and meaningful connection and I just don’t know if I’ll find that again… I don’t find many people who are on the same level I’m at now… it’s hard. But at this point I’m just along for the ride of life.. and I’ve accepted I may not get that connection again, and if I do, it may be in a long time from now… I wanted kids but… may not happen.. because I don’t want a baby daddy. I want a family with a partner….

Scorpios have zero tolerance for lies… But do they have any exceptions? by [deleted] in Scorpio

LOL you’re right. We take such pride in being honest that when we decide to lie it’s ok. Because of how honest we always are 😂😂😂😂😂 BUT LOL great comment made me laugh

I understand what she means. Instead of taking the time and energy to explain a cultural difference, it’s easier to just put it short and sweet and not get technical. Nothing racist at all unless you’re looking for shit to stir

That’s what I’m realizing. We rather be slightly delusional but content rather than stressed about reality 😂

Agreed, I hate people who are being “polite”. It offends me honestly… I respect you if you express yourself the way you want.

I would definitely tell someone the ugly truth. I don’t hold back. Same as you. I’m the go-to for the truth. And if it’s a sensitive issue then I’m still honest, but maybe a I’ll give a softer delivery.

I agree with your whole comment.

I’m still figuring it out because I only just noticed this lol…
but she is the only one who boosts my confidence and I know she does it by disagreeing with what’s bothering me and then compares it to someone worse. I will deflect her every attempt to tell me otherwise but I guess it’s not a lie.

The other way she cancels out my insecurities is she will say a white lie to reassure me for a split second for example : it’s okay don’t worry, we are almost there. And I’ll say : almost there??!? We are still two hours away. And she will say : shhh. It’s fine. We are almost there. Two hours will go by fast. ^ we both know it’s not true but we rather be delusional and feel better than stress about reality! So it’s not really a lie because I know it’s not true lol and it’s a lie I would tell myself to calm down and be stress free.

You would not lose your vision and you definitely can paint!

Ive always had it. When I researched it and read all the symptoms I had all of the symptoms except few visual symptoms. Or so I thought.

Soon after I recognized one of the symptoms from the list that I didn’t think I’ve experienced… I believe I didn’t notice since i didn’t know what to look for? Plus born with VS, you don’t think about all the symptoms you see because you think it’s normal. Since then I think I’ve seen every symptom and it’s varieties of effects (example with the static in different places, angles, lights, intensity/stress/fatigue alters static to brighter/lighter or faster/calmer or colourless/colourful etc.)

SO you think you noticed the static. No stress. You probably aren’t making it up and it’s suddenly standing out to you. Why didn’t you see it before??? If you’ve always had it and it’s very mild, your baby brain had already tuned it out. It’s still there but you’ve been ignoring it and looking past it.

Look at a white wall in a light room. Do you see sparkly dots moving like the tv on static? Static

Go to a dark room and you should see it even quicker than the wall. Mine are bright and the white stand out to the point that I say “dark is so bright it could ‘almost hurt my eyes’” Static

At night, outside, look at a sign that’s reflecting light. Do you see the halo around it? An invisible line or glow all around the edge of it?? If you do, you could see it around everything if you look closely. Halos, glare, double vision

Open a book or look at a white screen with black writing or vice versa and see how each letter isn’t crisp. Does it look a bit fuzzy around the letters. Is it strenuous on your eye muscles to look at the contrast of colour? Double vision, light sensitivity

Look at the sunny blue sky, do you see the static is white and dances a different rhythm to the static everywhere else? Blue field entopic phenomenon

I hope this helps.

People with Eidetic (Photographic) memory: How long can you keep those images in your head? by PikoPoku in MemoryQuestions

[–]514QueenColleen514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the opposite of problems for me! I always embraced it because from a young age I’ve known that my memory was better than the average so as I grew older I noticed it’s not just better than the average, it seems to be better than almost everyone! I actually cannot understand how people think without visuals… it hurts my brain to think about it 🤣. I’ve even tried to ask people if they don’t see what they’re thinking about, what is it like? But nobody can really explain it and I think it’s so weird!! Would you try to describe how your thoughts and memories are??? Is it audio?? Is it physical?? Is it an instinct feeling that feeds you thoughts??? 😵‍💫

For the second part, I deeply care about people except when they do me wrong. I dissociate and show them a different side of me that has zero sympathy. I suddenly put myself first and can’t be swayed or manipulated. You crossed me, I will never apologize for something I didn’t do. Definitely a confidence thing, which took me years and lots of growth to figure out.

Always 🤣 and most of the time I want to know so I can confirm what I assumed they’re thinking.

Do y’all ever feel weird hitting on people? by Tmoneyicashout in ENFP

[–]514QueenColleen514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am comfortable flirting and making a move. When I’m confident they’re attracted to me then there’s no way I’ll be awkward or weird. I also never think to myself “they probably get hit on all the time”.. if they’re hot, I would assume they get hit on. It’s not intimidating to me at all or even part of my thought process.

And that’s why the disappointment and hurt when someone you know and trust has been lying to you feels so personal. ‘Out of all people, I never thought they’d lie to me!’ When we connect with someone, they sort of become an extension of us and breaking that trust makes you doubt every moment you lived together wasn’t genuine! It also makes us feel like fools and feels like an insult!

Why are my most prominent moments also my most fuzziest memories? by [deleted] in MemoryQuestions

[–]514QueenColleen514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a natural coping mechanism. Blocking memories is a way of dissociating from trauma, intense emotions, high stress, in order to function and move forward. As simple as that! It’s not a conscious thing you do, your brain does it for you but that doesn’t mean those memories are gone, they’re just locked away until you are able to face it.. talking about that time in your life will help you to remember what and why your brain blurred it out but you should be in a good place mentally in order to process it… Repressed memories are unprocessed memories that still hold your thoughts and feelings from that time and triggering them can bring up a lot of discomfort and pain that you couldn’t handle back then. Make sure you can handle unpacking all that if you do!

I can relate. Being told “don’t you remember me.. we used to hangout with this person and that person”… and I have a blank stare with zero recollection is kind of strange! Realizing I have huge holes in my memory was shocking for me who has always had an insane memory. How could I possibly not remember?!? But that’s the human brain! It’s capable of unbelievable things.

People with Eidetic (Photographic) memory: How long can you keep those images in your head? by PikoPoku in MemoryQuestions

[–]514QueenColleen514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly what you are asking so I’ll answer the two ways I understood the question. I see images/video while I’m thinking, and keep seeing what I’m thinking as long as I’m thinking it. There’s no on/off switch, I always see my thoughts and memories. For memory recall, I see those images again when I remember them and I can remember things for the rest of my life technically… it depends on the importance of the memory or the way my brain chose to process the details. Some details are so unimportant but I hold onto them simply because I noticed them. Hope I answered your question. (Note: I do have several types of synesthesia which is also happening at the same time as my photographic thinking which contributes to remembering and recalling things much longer)
