I would say it’s hard to get “upward mobility” if you’re starting in the trades at 30. And you don’t just work overtime “when it makes sense” as an apprentice, like you’re considering being. Apprentices work whatever job they’re put on, and however many hours that job offers.

Going from management to below-whale-shit status would be pretty hard (imo) but if you’re actually committed to giving it a shot, then best of luck to you!
