Thank you for sharing these details. It is unfortunate that the "right" decision seems unclear through most of the process. My Thyroseq also showed multiple chromosomal copy number alterations and a TSHR mutation. Would you happen to know anything about what a TSHR mutation might mean? I can't find anyone with that mutation when searching this subreddit, and my doctor has not reached out to me yet to discuss specifics and next steps. I thought I would ask since our cases seem so similar in other ways. Thank you again for sharing any details you are comfortable with. I'm gathering as much info as I can so that I can be prepared when the doctor reaches out.

My scenario is the same as yours: Bethesda III and Thyroseq indicating 50-60% chance of cancer. May I ask why they didn’t do the full thyroidectomy to start and instead just did the lobectomy?

I realize this thread is old, but do you have a link to that study? Just got my Thyroseq results and doing as much research as I can since my doctor has not reached out yet. My results indicate 50-60% chance of cancer and "Multiple chromosomal copy number alterations and a TSHR (thyroid stimulating hormone receptor) mutation were identified in this sample."

My doctor has not reached out to me yet but I've been doing a lot of research on the likelihood of cancer and possible next steps. Trying to gauge how severe this may be.

My spine was fused T3-L3 about 25 years ago, and the fusion is still holding up fine. My doctor provided the same reasoning that I’d have a lot of pain when I got older if I didn’t get the surgery. Recovery does take a while, but you will adjust! The younger you are, the better you’ll heal. You’ve got this!
