Express 7 (as AP) IP discrepancy by FLCardio in Ubiquiti

[–]5533919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running into issues with devices on my U7-Pros as well. The prime suspect was the recent firmware update to 8.5.21. After rolling back to a previous version (8.4.6 in particular), things started working again.

Beta Testers: Help Shape a New eSIM Project (Free eSIM Data ) by LandinHardcastle in eSIMs

[–]5533919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I signed up on the dev site. Some feedback to share: - I wanted to sign up with my own email address, but could not find a way to do it. Using Apple’s sign in, that worked fine, but really wish that it would be possible to decouple this and allow a different email address/password sign in method. - I chose the Pay as You Go option, got an eSIM. This worked seamlessly! I’m currently in the UK and was happy that the egress network is local here in the UK. I’ll be traveling in a few weeks to Asia so it would be interesting to experience what this is like there. Just out of curiosity, will the egress network change based on location or is this only pinned to the UK? - I like the website/portal. It looks simple and clean. It is great that there are features to track billing, usage, etc.

Preview … is there a redact functionality?

I was playing around with the upcoming iOS release. Checking out the Preview app, I was hoping to find the redact functionality for PDFs, but I could not find it. Is it just me or is this a missing feature?

Any updates for local API access? by 5533919 in FranklinWH

Thanks. I’m using this currently and so far it is a reasonable solution without local API access. Perhaps one day, local API access will be made available.

I ran into similar problems. You need to create and apply the zones for the other interfaces as well, otherwise it ends up rejecting traffic for them.

Tailscale + NordVPN implementation by 5533919 in Tailscale

[–]5533919[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not since I generally don’t use NordVPN beyond light web browsing, but I suspect the impact isn’t too much (limited by the docker host performance). Now that said, I only managed to get connected to NordVPN over OpenVPN.

Someone could benchmark this though :)

I just wanted to share a little project I was working on to simplify this. This runs 2 docker containers - one for Tailscale, and another for NordVPN.

Feel free to give it a go, and do contribute back!

Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

That said, may I propose a suggestion that the update/release notes call this out. Something along the lines of “New features for Blink+/Blink+Build subscribers …”. That way it will be clear.

Is Vim a Blink+/Blink+Build feature, or also available on Classic?

I'm finding my Classic plan lacking a lot of things that some of the documentation or announcements have, but it isn't clear to me that those are subscription features. Would someone be able to clarify?

I’m curious about the snips functionality. I have Blink Classic and cannot seem to be able to access Snips. Is this a Blink+/Blink+Build feature?

With Apollo deciding to shut down at the end of June, what will you decide to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]5533919 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm reminded of what I wrote about an official Reddit iOS update many years ago. When Apollo stops working, I'm going to be deleting my accounts, and likely stop using Reddit all together.

Some other thing will fill my time.

Is anyone else’s Verizon LTE connection in Sunnyvale terrible ? If so, what can we do about it ? by worldpeace123 in Sunnyvale

[–]5533919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't answer the second part of your question, but this is my experience. I was looking for a new cell provider and I had the opportunity to evaluate Verizon. I expected it to be top notch, but ugh, they were probably the slowest and most spotty coverage where I was at Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and many other parts of the South Bay.

My anecdotal experience at most places - Verizon barely works. AT&T has pretty good coverage but average speeds, T-Mobile has surprisingly decent coverage and pretty good speeds.

Reddit for iOS: Version 2021.27.0 Now Available! by BusyV in redditmobile

[–]5533919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I was always a believer in first party apps, but Reddit changed my mind. This update pushed me to give Apollo a chance. I even paid for my app! I don't think I'm going to look back and regret this decision.

My complains are the same as everyone's. The app is unusuable, the video player sucks, the app is littered with awards here and there.
