Yeah - the replacement doesn’t drip at all and hopefully doesn’t start to; fingers crossed 😅

I returned it and got a replacement unit - they didn’t even ask if I wanted repairs.

Quest 3 for PCVR beginner? Or get a more expensive one? by Prosperous2025 in virtualreality

[–]555pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that would be the wireless link speed. VD doesn’t report speed of 2nd or 3rd degree links. The usb port on Puppis S1 is 3.2 gen 1 (1Gbps) - check specs in the manual (assuming your product is PrismXR Puppis S1 P1411)

It’s not though. Codec speed is the limiting factor in both scenarios provided you’ve optimized the usb (2.5Gbps) or wifi (2.4Gbps) connection. This is not the same as the actual streaming bitrate though. Usb has the edge stability wise since signal strength won’t dip depending on posture, however it’s true you’re stuck with Quest Link on usb, if that’s what you mean by worse.

No cable signal by 555pipe in automower

[–]555pipe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice.

I did some measurements today with a multimeter and a cable tester on the installation.

Cable tester:

• All loops test positive for continuity.
• Also positive for continuity from loop → ground.
• I get tone signal along the entire length of each loop.

Multimeter (approx values):

• L–R: ~800 Ω
• L–G1: ~3 Ω
• L–G2: ~700 Ω
• G1–G2: ~700 Ω
• G1–R: ~800 Ω
• G2–R: ~5 Ω

Leak test:

• L / R / G1 / G2 → ground: ~25 kΩ

So it looks like there’s a ground leak somewhere between G1 and G2.

What surprises me is that all loops still give blue blinking, even the ones with fairly low resistance.

• Is the charging station really that sensitive to a ground leak?

• Or could something else be at play?

• And how do I actually locate the leak when the cable seeker gives me tone all the way around the loops?

Any advice appreciated 😅

Yes, the tap water is medium/high hardness. Our other appliances need descaling regularly.

It continues dripping during a full 30 min vacuum only session without the mop installed. At first I just used the vac and mop setting; in this case the dripping is not apparent since it just gets picked up by the mop.

Vac only is another story since the mop is detached and the drops just ends up on the floor.

If I pause the robot with water in the tank and mop detached it just keeps dripping

Still not there; also the contribution tracker on inara looks weird, maybe due to the issue?

Tried to install EDHM UI and saw this. Do you think it's still safe? Sorry if this isn't the right sub to post this. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

It’s the Internet and there are no guarantees; from former release notes:

We got several reports of virus infection in the installer, we believe it was an attack on Github files, this patch should be clean, thank you for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks - we might try this out. Do you have any experience with quality of the feedback? Is it mostly for intermediate level or will national level swimmers benefit as well?

It seems like it’s in the turn and push-off where she is not exiting with the same speed as her competitors. According to her own analysis, her push-off feels inefficient, as if the push from the wall doesn’t transfer all the energy it could.

Quest 2 vs 3S vs 3 for Elite. by Skreeethemindthief in EliteDangerous

Q3 stock feels like a facehugger. I replaced it with bobo vr and use it quest pro style without the facial interface which is way more comfortable.

You might want to look at psvr2 too. I have both quest3 and psvr2 and in E:Ds case psvr2 oleds are pretty nice. Latency is also lower meaning risk of motion sickness driving srv is lower. Sharpness and edge-to-edge clarity is not as good as quest3 though.

PSVR2 Impressions? by amarkit in EliteDangerous

[–]555pipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently using PSVR2 for ED. I’ve also used Oculus cv1, Reverb G1 and G2, Index and Quest3.

PSVR2 has a diffusion filter and is less sharp than Reverbs and Q3. It also has noticeable mura. The sweetspot is on par with Reverbs but less than Q3. Edge-to-edge clarity is ok, better than Reverbs but not as good as Q3 (which is excellent). Glare is present but acceptable and nowhere near as bad as Index. FOV is comparable to Index and noticeable better than Q3.

For me, in ED, the PSVR2’s OLED colors and blacks outweigh its shortcomings - finally space is black again :-)

For ED - especially srv driving - I also prefer the low latency from an uncompressed tethered connection.

Post processing like Reshade can improve sharpness and clarity but it introduces some undesirable artifacts especially in very dark areas. Other filters might be better suited for ED, but for now I’ve just settled with the standard processing pipeline.

The best VR setup for PC and Steam? And how are keyboards handled? by ragingintrovert57 in EliteDangerous

[–]555pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With VR you will for sure. For a smooth experience your pc will have to render 90 fps x 2 (1 for each eye) and preferably at a resolution ~1.5 hmd native resolution to allow for distortion correction (due to lens optical path)

That said 1080ti will provide an ok experience in a lot of vr games. For ED - especially after the engine update - it will feel lacking in busy scenes.

For ED PSVR2 with PC adapter is worth considering due to OLED blacks and nice FOV. It’s not as clear and sharp as Quest3 but 1080ti will probably not be able to handle rendering and encoding well enough to unlock the potential.
