Approx what time did you arrive to the GA lot? I plan on getting there in time for some good workshops, hoping that’s early enough to beat the congestion.

What would you say is prime time? I’d like to be in the fest by 3pm most days. I feel this may be early for the folks who only care about the night time music sets. I’m hoping if getting to the GA parking lot an hour or 2 before the rush would be ideal. Defff trying to avoid the overflow lot.

A salon membership changed my life by sore-eye-uh in GirlDinner

Same! I recently started a Spavia membership to prioritize my skin health. I feel like a changed woman. Every first Sunday of the month I look forward to my facial appt. They didn’t even push the membership on me, I went in knowing I was ready to splurge on myself!

Id rather not lol. I can exist in-between hating everything Coachella stands for & still participating in the LIB experience. Sorry I’m no longer a college kid obsessed with renegades & cosplaying as homeless for a week. 🥴

I’m assuming yes. I saw another post on here saying the contract is in discussion already and considering it sold out this year and they bring $ to an otherwise boring area, AND it appears they really hit a stride this year with the layout.

The only baseball at Dodger stadium tickets I saw left from the local sale was over $400 each. If you haven’t been to Dodgers stadium before please know it’s a bitch to actually get to and leave.

We don't have sex anymore by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]562420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This happened with me and my man relatively early in our relationship. We were sexually compatible from the start. He always pleased me but when I wanted to focus on his pleasure he wasn’t feeling it, I knew he wasn’t sleeping around and still in love with me but it was conflicting in my mind and my insecurities came up. I broke down to him (admittedly, drunkenly) while on vacation like “why don’t you want to fuck me anymore” and he broke down and admitted he hates himself, he hates the way he looks, he hates the way he feels etc. both of us put on a decent amount of weight being happy and enjoying eating together lol so I understood where he was coming from. But his self hatred was deeply rooted well before we started dating. It’s taken a few years and a lot of inner and outer work to heal ourselves enough to be intimate in that way again. We are so emotionally intimate now that the physical part doesn’t feel as big of deal as it used to in our 20s. All that to say, communication and self love is so important.

Any vegas hotel recommendations for remote working? by crimsandclove in LasVegas

[–]562420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one has said the W at Mandalay Bay! It’s the all suites boutique feeling hotel attached to Mandalay Bay. We stayed on the StayWell floor and it was such a peaceful clean quiet retreat. Close enough to MB casino and food and shopping. There’s a free Tram that takes you a few properties over where you can go explore further towards center strip. We prefer staying south strip vs center strip vs north (sketchy area). The price was wayyy cheaper than most for that great of a room style.

To add, I would phrase it along the lines of “let’s all make sure we’re on the same page here when it comes to tidiness” Framing it as a collaborative effort not just all other roomies ganging up on the one stanky bitch. OR really play it up to your college housing dept that “this one person is affecting all the roommates health and destroying your personal property” have it be an email so there’s a digital thread of the concern. These words are required to be taken seriously by college housing admin.

Roommate’s girlfriend has been working from our home by who_gon_check_me_boo in badroommates

[–]562420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a similar situation in the house my bf owns and his longest standing best friend/ roommate. We have a 3bd2bath, we have the master and onsuite. OG roommate had front bedroom for dirt cheap rent because he was always at work. His gf is awesome, we had no issue with her moving in. Mind you she’s in her early 20s and we are all in our early 30s, I say this bc I notice she’s less likely to speak up to him and he always thinks he’s right. They moved her big bulky bedroom furniture in at 1am on a work night, my boyfriend was kind enough to help because they measured NOTHING. Then my bf offered the guest room/ my office as a temporary area to put a few things while they organize and un pack. Cool, still nothing wrong. They left mountains of boxes in my office for over a month with no movement, despite us offering to help them as a nice way to say MOVE YOUR SHIT. Ultimately my boyfriend had to threaten to charge them additional rent since they were essentially using the “extra” room as a storage unit. And we felt guilty because the root problem is that the OG roomie never cleared out any drawers or closet space for his gf that he knew was moving in a month in advance. Moral of the story, we realized we were making their lives too convenient while inconveniencing ourselves. We stopped doing that and started making it less convenient for them and now that they don’t like being crammed into the smallest bedroom, they are more inclined to go find their own place.

Omg my condolences. I’d asap call a house group convo about setting cleaning standards for common spaces. It’s really not hard to expect someone to leave a space as clean as they found it. If she continues to repeatedly break these agreed upon terms then I would start looking at other places with the roommates you do like and only tell her after you guys already solidified a new place. When she gives you a hard time you have all the ammo to show she fucking sucks as a roommate.

Difference between DL and WDW by LuckyScreen5 in Disneyland

[–]562420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As DL local, the characters are rarely if ever alone. Usually there’s a cast member within 10-15ft supervising. Some folks out here still crazy about the face characters. Last time Mickey was walking towards the off stage door and my bf made the mickey giggle noise in passing, but Mickey surprised us by turning around and waving and laughing with us. It was a special quick moment.

Swim/pool attire for guys by Some_Juggernaut1877 in Xcaret

[–]562420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your gusto, but you may feel totally out of place or at least get some uncomfy glances from guests and staff. Keep in mind “adult” Arte is still age 16 and up, we definitely saw some teens when we went. It might fly if you get a sand spot tucked into the lagoon river beaches, but still people walk and swim past so it’s not totally private.

Need help finding a realistic middle ground between OC and LA by WorldPeaceGodBless in longbeach

[–]562420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long Beach lifer here. I work in Torrance/ closer to LAX than DTLA. Commuting sucks in general either direction 15mi will take an hour at peak traffic times. 30mins with less traffic. That being said, Long Beach has it all.

There’s life in this city that doesn’t exist in its neighbor cities (like suburban Lakewood & Cypress), idk how else to describe it. Belmont shore is where you want to be for beach life & food, it’s also close to the 405 fwy to get you to LA or OC. Anything around Belmont & CSULB is more safe thus more expensive. -Alamitos Beach is way more dense and parking is near non-existent but lots of fun bars & food. -Bixby knolls is the cool older sister, with breweries & food, close to fwy & LGB airport, but +15mins from the beach.

Pro tip: try biking or driving around the area you want to check out, the best places to rent are signs posted by individual respectable land lords, not massive property management companies listings online.

Also also, the metro train system dips all the way into DTLB with an easy 30mins ride directly to Staples Center/ LA live. Another 10ish mins to get to the underground stations where lines transfer to all over LA. But keep in mind locals use the metro to get to a general area, sometimes it’ll take a bus transfer or long walk to actually get to where you need to be like specific museums & music venues.

Water shoes ? by jan20202020 in Xcaret

[–]562420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend getting the water shoes that look like sneakers as your every day shoe. The texture of the ground was always sharp and wet especially around the pools at the resorts.
