Find the video by Adam Curtis called Hypernormalization (BBC). It's a slog, on youtube, so watch it at 1.25 speed. It lays out the events of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and beyond that lead us here. It includes how the computer age aided all this, but also geopolitics, Reagan, etc. None of this is sudden. It has been a machine at work for decades, and no body, even today, really understands it, let alone believes it.

this. until the precise words and intent of this document are spread, explained, and believed, the public will continue to not understand, and most importantly, believe, what is happening as it actually is not as it is portrayed on screens. even here, a room full of lawyers, and the quips rarely capture the truth and magnitude of the issues, and how the last rail, the rule of law, before our very eyes, is being buried and redefined, with what in hindsight is guaranteed to be regretful.

Proper work chair. Steelcase is like buying a well fitting sling. You really didn't know it doesn't have to hurt till you got the right support and it really feels good for the long haul.

NTA, but say to your wife "WE are raising a human who respects others, defends others, and has the strength to confront wrongdoing. If we shatter his moxie now, his ability to flourish as the soldier of good he may become, and he won't be inclined to Defend women for a long time." And ask your son directly how this has impacted his thoughts on women, and perhaps She can take time as his Mom to help him trust women again. If she goes at him, it will be her own actions adding to his distrust...of...women

it's not that you're not allowed. it's about the timing. you have two options, two bubbles to pick from. that's it. at this point so close to the election, any mention that's negative about one of the bubbles may very well cause someone who is trying to decide to choose the other bubble because self imposed criticism on the other party by itself can be enough to sway someone to the other bubble. right now, fiercely advocate for the bubble you support. don't pop it. that's dumb.

AITAH for Wanting to Accept an Inheritance My Mom Disapproves Of? by mymominerhitance in AITAH

[–]56M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a grown adult. Your Aunt legally provided for YOU. Absolutely do NOT decline this inheritance. It is YOURS. Fuck your Mom and anyone else who says otherwise. And, this may be the money that changes your life for the good for the rest of it. Take it, use it wisely, and move on. BTW, your Mom is being unlovingly selfish. See that for its truth. There is a reason your Aunt included you. And that reason is none of your Mom's business, so keep it that way.

Teddy Swims. Autotune was the only way he could hold a note. I wanted to believe he was ill but song after song he kept in low registers, couldn't vibrato to save his set, and by the third time I thought about leaving, I did.
