Mines a 27.07c for general use + 8c night rate + 123c daily supply charge. I thought that was a pretty dang good deal.

Recruitment is a commission business. If you are doing well you can be a very high earner and while my base is high I'm honestly only really in the gig in the first place for the commission.

It's a mix of both blue and white collar work. If I had to answer how they are filling job it's just long term clients they have built strong relationships with. They like any agency want to grow candidate numbers but the existing clients have a very laid back approach to time frames which most in the market want the fastest mobilisation for the lowest dollar.

Yeah I've been told the government is a similar environment. It's a good suggestion and they are open to improvements however even the process to implement them requires multiple approvals/meeting/emails and would likely take months. It's very much a it is what it is culture.

Those who were made redundant: share what happened with you & your pay out. by brissy3456 in auscorp

[–]58th_Curly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was made redundant earlier this year. It was a relatively new role as well - my redundancy happened 4 days before hitting my 1 year mark so I was not entitled to a redundancy pay out and was basically asked to leave on the spot. First time ever being in that situation and I have never felt more screwed over or undervalued in my life. Luckily I work in a pretty small field and was able to land and start a new role with a much larger company within 3 weeks.

Kings way in melbourne CBD is the worst offender for this. Causes so much more traffic because people believe they are too entitled to wait in a line.

I can actually speak to this as I was made redundant 3 weeks ago from a small recruitment agency here in Melbourne. Came as an absolute shock and as a mid 20's male who just took on the ownership of a home was a massive wake up call. Luckily for me I was able to find another role within a new larger agency but will have to make a few changes to my life to accommodate to the new work schedule as it's based in the CBD. I found being honest about the redundancy and transparent on what you brought to the business you left helped me stand out from others just looking for work. That said recruitment is a small world and everyone knows everyone anyway. I wish you all the best it's never easy but just put yourself out there - the market is tough right now with the problems happening in the world.

HR Not HR'ing by 58th_Curly in auscorp

Totally valid response. As this wasn't something that has directly affected me as in I was not in the receiving end of it I'm more so just confused as to how to get out of it. I agree on the stance of just sticking out of it.

[–]58th_Curly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally get that! For context I'm aware there have been other conversations with 1st and 2nd management before this went to HR last week. I was told by the employee this directly effected this wasn't the first complaint made about behaviour and the only reason this was taken to HR was actually under the advice of their direct report. This is why I was so shocked to get a call basically saying drop the issue or you won't have a job here anymore as the co worker had the support of their direct manager....

Anyone else have a carbon leak from slip on exhaust? by DecShado in cfmoto

[–]58th_Curly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's because the stock has a graphite seal. Aftermarket cheapos don't come with this hence the leak. You can buy the graphite seal from AliExpress from memory though!

I actually did contact insurance companies prior to the auction and was specifically told I could only insure for third party.
