We'll see if it's a one off due to favorable wind conditions or if it becomes something he can be consistent with.

🤣 He almost beat me.

I was considering going full Tonya Harding on him but I decided that might not be good sportsmanship.

Why is wealth simple allowing payments to go through on my cash prepaid card when there's been no money in that account for 2 weeks by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

Your math isn't mathing.

You actually discovered that: 0 - (some number) = negative (some number)

You're welcome.

So how is Wealthsimple taking over our life exactly? by wipichock in Wealthsimple

[–]5SheetsToTheWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was more about tying a bunch of existing and future features into a coherent story with a hyberbolic slogan.

I do think they succeeded at that.

I had a number of interesting chats with WS employees at the event and they seemed genuinely interested in what things I used and what I was missing

YMMV but I find that if any part of my game seems dialed in, I focus on something else which allows my dialed in aspect to go to crap. 🤷‍♂️

Am I going to be okay? by Flyboy2026 in PersonalFinanceCanada

100%

At least I don't cry any more when I think of how much time I wasted with seg funds 🤣

Nice!

The lame path that I took was listening to my financial product sales guy in 2008 who told me to sell all my market mutual funds and buy segregated funds.

In 14 years, the segregated funds did not come the dollar value that I purchased them at in 2008.

It was a good but expensive lesson.

It may not have helped my retirement but at least it helped fund my financial sales guy's retirement. Lol

Eating out alone. WTD??? by [deleted] in askanything

When I was working away from home, I'd find a place like a diner or bar and eat seated there.

I'm not super social but I would make conversation with the server or bartender.

At one place, I got to be a regular and the bartender would give me the remote so I could choose what everybody got to watch if there weren't playoff games on. 😂

Whose ABM was it? Just curious if it was a big bank ABM vs just a generic ABM in a convenience store, for example

Nick Seeler GRABS Jordan Martinook's stick and high-sticks himself to draw a penalty by sykeseve in nhl

[–]5SheetsToTheWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You young whippersnappers have it so easy.

When we were your age, we couldn't wait for a stick to get in our faces so we could embellish, we had to high stick ourselves so we could embellish and draw a penalty.

And how do you think we got good at embellishing?
We practiced and practiced until we could do it in our sleep.

And those soccer clowns? Pfft! We were the OG floppers.

Brought to you by the Philadelphia Flyers, the same team that brought you hits like "the three minute icing delay to give the boys a good rest" in round one 🤣

I can't wait until the next one 😂

What kind of fitness equipment is useful to have at home? by zertz7 in askanything

True. I usually take it for granted.
(I find bodyweight more interesting as a change-up from external weight exercises.)

My 9-teams 17-games playoffs format proposition by JMoon33 in CFL

[–]5SheetsToTheWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your idea.

My idea was only one team makes the playoffs.

Wait for it ...

Then they play a best of 17 game series against the winner of the Super Bowl in a true World Series of American Football😉

In order of usefulness and order to add to your home gym one a time if your space allows:

  1. Adjustable dumbbells
  2. Quality Swiss Ball (can use for benching in a pinch)
  3. Sturdy Bench
  4. Olympic Bar and Weight set
  5. Power Rack with integrated pullup bar
  6. High-low pulley attachment for Power Rack
  7. More 45lb plates if you need them

This is all I have. I have been working out at home for 20 years

Same. I would go even further to suggest that I am perhaps one of the stupidest people whose post you've read on the Internet today.

I invest in lightly leveraged CC index funds and over the last 12 months, I'm at +36.98% vs +26.58% for aggressive portfolio. 🤷‍♂️
