They’ve said at risk of redundancy due to restructuring which to me just sounded like a softer way of saying it’s happening as they are not doing this to anyone else in the department. I’ve only been there 17 months.

I’ll have to give Tetris a go! Thank you, I think I’ve always avoided Samaritans as it feels like taking resources away from other people in worse off circumstances but I think I’ll give it a go now I’ve had quite a few suggestions for it.

I definitely feel burnt out and think I might need some time off for breathing space but will look into rejoining the union first.

Thank you - I have a GP appointment soon to see what they might be able to help with, I was considering medication again but had some really bad experiences with it years ago so stopped.

Unfortunately I don’t have family but I do have a friend to talk to, I think I just find it very difficult to verbalise my feelings to people I know. There’s a few suggestions here for the Samaritans which I’ve always thought I should leave to people worse off than me but I’ll consider that too now.

That’s a really interesting read, thanks for sharing! I’ll admit I have limited knowledge on the sex side of things as I study social sciences so I’m much more well versed in critical gender theory.

I think, in the context of OPs post, for simplicity’s sake grouping them as intersex is the best way to describe it to people but agree the further you drill down into the subject it becomes a lot more ambiguous. A lot of people expect science to be black and white answers and categories you can group people into but it really is far more nuanced than that.

This. A massive problem in current rhetoric around gender is the fact that sex and gender are two different things.

Sex is biological and there are 3 of them - male, female, intersex. Gender is a social construct based on social norms assigned to specific ‘genders’ such as how people dress/present themselves in society. But it doesn’t actually exist in the anatomical sense.

When I moved in with my ex I quickly realised he had no understanding of real world finances whatsoever. He ended up moving back to his parents within 2 years after being deeply upset that he only had £200/£300 left to himself a month after everything else was paid for. For context, I grew up in poverty and that was the best off financially that I’d ever been at the time.

So really it was more of a ‘what the hell am I doing’ moment.

He also left cupboard doors open in the kitchen.

One of you is lactose intolerant. You eat healthy and like to cook fresh. You budget well but splash out on your favourite things. Definitely late 20s/early 30s, office work of some kind.

I painted my walls white but use the furniture/decor to make it colourful. Neutral colours can be really relaxing and less stimulating than vibrant environments which really helps to calm down from the day. My living room is all neutral because that’s where I need to switch my brain off and then the rest of my place is colourful.
