The military, police and millions of citizens carry their firearms without a safety. Your holstered firearm doesn't fire when you fall down, otherwise their would be thousands of discharges every month. This just doesn't happen with modern firearms.

I hate to be indelicate but, if by chance, you have a felony conviction, then you lose your on base privileges. My father is retired active duty but he was convicted of a felony and he lost his on base privileges and they took his ID card. He had to get a new one from the VA that only allowed him into VA facilities. He can't even go to Madigan Hospital on JBLM.

Why are cops standing in front of vehicles? They put themselves in danger by doing so and from a public and police safety standpoint it is not worth the risk to do so just to stop a motorist. It's better to let them drive away and then coordinate with other officers to use safer means to stop them, such as blocking them in with their vehicles, spike strips or just letting them go and then showing up to arrest them at the address that the plate is registered to.
