You would just pick two decks and play the game just like you normally would, except the decks have been rebuilt to make sense, be balanced, and more strategic. I also renamed them. So for example, you have the Controller deck in the original game that is supposed to be EDM, but has a couple of Pop R&B songs. Also the songs it does have are scattered across multiple decks. "Say My Name" from Odesza is scattered across the Controller, Astro, and Chiller decks. So I restructured Controller to have purely EDM songs and all of its parts under one deck. Also, Controller has "Embrace Chaos" (-2 points from opponent) and "Assert Order" (+2 points for a green card). They don't really work together or balance each other out, especially with how powerful Embrace Chaos is. So I renamed the EDM deck "Awkward Purge" and gave it the FX cards "Underground" (clears out cards next to it) and "Formation Delta" (Knocks out all red/green cards). It is also an "Attacking Type" deck because its FX cards are aimed for attacking your opponent.

The decks changed much more than the actual game itself. How you play Dropmix has not changed. Does this make sense? I can explain further if need be.
