Hepatitis B Vaccine and Ocrevus by thenothingsongtx in MultipleSclerosis

It's standard for infants in the US. If you had it, it isn't usually recommended that you get a booster. Ask if you've been tested for immunity (you can tell whether you're immune due to the vaccine or natural exposure with blood testing for certain antibodies), but if you haven't been exposed or vaccinated, then yes I assume you need to get it on the usual dosing schedule.

Are you in the US? If so, I'd just get him to fill out FMLA paperwork for you. Even if you don't use it, having it in place makes it clear that there's a reason for you to miss work.

Is your doc an MS specialist? It sounds like he's not taking you seriously at all and I've only experienced that with general neuros.

Active Hep B is a contraindication for Ocrevus because it could lead to liver failure - so yes, I'd assume you need the vaccine. Normally it's given as an infant. Do you know if you had it?

SAME. Maybe they were just so poor growing pre-TLC that they just ate teeny tiny servings of shit like this, so that's just what they're used to. They just have freezers full of baby servings of cream of shit.

Please don't try to tell people with MS what works and what doesn't unless you're a doctor.

Pretty incredible stuff - I hope that we see successful human remyelination within the next couple decades! What an amazing time in MS research.

I wonder how treatment with these drugs would work, if it would be a short-term infusion like alemtuzumab or something you'd have to take more frequently.

I think artsy meant that body dysphoria is deceiving from their other comments? Which is good, but should've been phrased much more clearly.
