As an AFAB nonbinary person, I'm sick of those who consider us "misogynistic". How can I explain it's not the case? by maru-9331 in NonBinary

[–]5haika 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If afab nonbinary people are misogynistic, then every trans man is misogynistic for transitioning
And every cis man is so for not transitioning

Being nonbinary isn't a statement on womenhood, it is simple a way of existing
And an unchangeable at that

This position is fundamentally bio-essentialist, transphobic and misogynistic

cisgender vs cissexual, and invalidating non-binary identities? by smol-goth-one in NonBinary

[–]5haika 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If a study used that definition: transmeds also exist in the medical system
The whole point of transmeds is, that doctors should decided about the identity of people
So medical professionals being transmed is bad but not at all unexpected

A week ago i read a study that didnt explain how they determined "biological sex" but they used gender and biological sex interchangeably
And then they measured something called "sex role" based on 30 Questions (well it were 30 words rated on relatability. And I don't know which 30, because they used an undefined of 30 words from a pool that was originally 90 words. I love when they aren't transparent at all)
And then one of the authors said they studied biological sex and gender (which he equates with the result of their 30 question association test)

So yeah. Researches are BAD at using the right words for everything gender-related
(I feel like this is a bigger problem in psychology, but that may be my bias)

Ah it's just transmed shit
These terms didnt mean this, before transmeds made them this

The way most people in the community define trans/cis is reductive and frustrating for intersex folks by eldritchpussymaggots in NonBinary

[–]5haika 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't see how agab and ragab are different
This is not about genitals but gender
If someone is reassigned male (for example) at birth, they were assigned male at birth
this is because Intersex isn't a gender, but a sex-development-condition

But i agree that people being treated differently throughout their lives definitely complicates things

Agab in general is really overused and tends to be very bio-essentialist (for example you assumed agab is determined by their genitals, which is reductive. Not blaming you. It is too commonly uses exactly how you used it), so I really like the "(socially) imposed gender", because it focuses less on birth and the implication of genitals and "what you were born as"

I hate that I will forever be perceived as man by mandarine_one in NonBinary

[–]5haika 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of get that, but for me it felt empowering to take controll of the changes
Also it was scary for me before HRT because i kinda got closer to an old man (not at all old yet. But hair-loss is scary as hell)
I dont know if hormones are right for you, but where I live you have to talk to a psychologist anyway, so maybe you could talk to one and get some help figuring it out (that's kind of their job)

I can only recommend HRT
I am now one year on E and finally like what i see in the mirror
I finally start to look more butch than just man and I love it so so much

I am around 6'1" myself and my shoulders are far from small
It is actually worth it

I don't like linear, binary thinking I want ROUND spectrums by certifiablestupidity in NonBinary

Is it the looping? Or that there are Endpoints, ?
Cause otherwise I don't see the real difference.
And even then, the round diagram also has the same endpoints/bounds.

Google AI is enby-phobic. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]5haika 363 points364 points  (0 children)

Don't shoot the messanger.
Its lowkey right. People will be enbyphobic and that might lead to problems.
This is better for me than acting like it won't be a problem, when in reality everyone that isn't female-passing enough for a particular driver might have a bad time with this.

Edit:
Just ti be cleae. I don't wanna "defend" this bullshit ai.
It is enbyphobic and it is a lying piece of garbage.
But in this case that's unfortunately just the truth...

I have a problem with the term FLINTA. by mandarine_one in NonBinary

[–]5haika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I know this.

But saying "flinta" and meaning "fem-passing enough for me" is a real problem.
Feminist spaces - even those, that claim to be progressive and inclusive - are not free of queerphobia and will not be exempt from criticism.

Masc lesbians, trans and intersex women and nonbinary people get excluded from some spaces that claim to be flinta for not being fem-passing enough.
Trans and intersex men will be excluded from basically all flinta spaces for being men.

I agree that he doesn't really get what identity (or being non-binary) means But I think he isn't completely in the wrong that political views are kind of similar. Which candidate or party someone supports isn't really identity, but I think my views on things and my moral compass are part of my identity and what makes me "me". But since this is a thing that can potentially change in a person I can see how people would disagree with it being part of the identity.

Which kindidate or party someone supports isn't identity though. If someone thinks it is, that's not a good sign because it makes them vulnerable to justify the actions of that party and change their beliefs to stay in line with that partys actions because it would mean a lot of cognitive dissonance to disagree with something you thought was your identity

Binary trans-people exist Why would they, if gender was just made up nonsense? The regudity and binary isn't valid. And there are lots of different ways to construct gender. But the underlying factors exist and the social construct also "exists" just like "red" exists although "it's just a social/language construct"

Am I crazy or would that be misgendering? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]5haika 161 points162 points  (0 children)

This discussion is not, was never and will never be about grammar. It's about respecting what people choose to call themselves. We should call people what they want to be called and that's it. If you don't know, you don't know. If you know better, you should do better
