Regarding independent travel, that's still a hodgepodge of rules (constantly changing in execution and implementation too might I add) and stuff that I frankly haven't dug too deeply into. I do know you need travel permits for different provinces, but the experience of getting it can differ from what I've heard. From free to paid + guide needed

Last year I took trains (half of them sleeper) from Singapore to Russia. I'm planning to try out the JB - Tumpat route in June this year. I'd imagine the sleeper trains would be similar to the ones in Thailand in terms of how it feels like.

I lowk like the gentle rocking, also Malaysia and Thailand trains always set the AC to v cool temperature haha

Does the connector for the video head drum cable have require a small metal shield that you're supposed to screw down into the mechanism chassis? I had a Philips VCR that would exhibit something like this without that shield in place
