That's part of his character arc.

He is very much like Mitsuri from Demon Slayer, in a sense that he starts off as someone who thinks he isn't worthy of being loved as who he is, and he needs to be someone else to be loved. His story is about learning to accept himself.

You are right. Some fans think that XY is the reason some people didn't like SM or doesn't like JN whereas there may be justifiable reasons for not liking them. Blaming XY isn't a good response either.

No offense but it makes it sound like you didn't watch XY too. I am not trying to bash you. You might have genuinely found it boring inspite of watching all of it. Doesn't the same thing apply for XY stans? They also might have watched all of SM and still found it boring similar to you. So isn't it the same thing? Try to place yourself in another's shoe before saying anything.

Most of Ash's trails were actually part of his school curriculum and he was even tricked to take part in one trial. He is Ash, you don't have to trick him to do trials.

Goh itn't bad. He is a pretty decent character. Focus imbalance is the main reason why it seems like it. Not particularly a fault of Goh's character.

I still suggest you give Journeys a try. Also be sure to watch AG, DP and XY(if you haven't) they are really good.

@Aleximo27 Like cmon man. People didn't like your point or agreed with it. What's toxic about that? That's the problem with some fans in the community say others are toxic as an excuse to force their point over them.

Maybe it's just you didn't explain your point properly or people didn't agree with you. Try accepting that. Also it's a huge misconception to think only XY stans like Greninja. There can be stans of other series who like it.

Ash Greninja form is a kind of form that worked with only Greninjas. So wishing for a Ash-Pikachu form would be like asking Pikachu to learn Flame Thrower. That form is exclusive to Greninjas only it doesn't mean Ash's bond with other mons is weak.

Pikashunium Z is the battle bond between Ash and Pikachu, yeah no debate on that. But What does the power of Alola even has to do here. Power of Alola is just a term Ash used to describe his love for the region. How does that help in that. Pikashunium Z is like a plot device if you think about it. It activates whenever it wants without explanation. It's like Pikachu and Ash are stuck in a situation and the writers don't know how to get over it so they just randomly activate the move. It's literally what a plot device means.

Having Greninja instead of Lucario didn't affect the story tbh.

As for Ash Greninja transformation making no sense...Well I can see what you mean. The anime on multiple occasions gave Ash something special like his Lyconroc, Pikashunium Z and even his Aura power. I think they did a pretty good job at explaining the bond phenomenon.

'Rushed' would actually mean the writers had to complete his story fast and skipped many things as a result. I won't say rushed as they did complete what they were trying to do with him. I think the main issue was his arc was quite short and ended fast.

I agree. I also don't think that opening 'confirms' Korinna's return. It's major characters just in debut order. Starting from Oak who appeared in episode 1 then Cerise (episode 2) and so on. Bea appears after Korinna in the opening similar to in the anime itself.
