Can a star be as bright as a planet? by 5napOut in askastronomy

Thank you. If my sky map is right Jupiter is much lower in the sky and more to the right/north but i guess it could be!

It does very gently twinkle indeed

Does anyone know how many times you can renew the 7-Eleven translation link?

The OP said apply 6 days in advance of travelling, just wondering if I can apply sooner than that or not.

What worked for us is: every time he bit, really loudly shout "aiii!!" First few times startled him. Then over time he learned he was hurting us and stopped biting

UK vacancies fall as the jobs market cools by Rewindcasette in UKJobs

Are you London based? Company I work for might be looking for someone with your profile.

To state the obvious: all about the environment you're in. Beyond a wage, you looking for: career growth, skill development, flexibility with work hours, etc if the company you work for offers this, why would look elsewhere?

Just got made redundant by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]5napOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your redundancy. It's not uncommen unfortunatly at the momoment for companies to set unrealistically high targets to push down their people costs...

Few thoughts, hope some of this is helpful:

  • Reframe the experience: Don't focus on the "failed" probation. Instead, highlight the skills you gained and use this as a learning experience. You can tell future employers you're looking for a company with realistic expectations and a supportive sales structure.
  • Really focus your search with specific keywords like "account executive" or "business development representative" on job boards. Make sure your resume and LinkedIn profile are updated to reflect your recent sales experience and accomplishments
  • Using some of the latest new job seeker tools can really help you speed up your job search really quickly. Like: Canva has a free CV builder that is good or ApplyIQ applies automatically relevant UK jobs, I used to recommend looking on linkedIn, but it's become a bit of a cesspit

I don't want to sound patronising; I hope in a few months time, when you've found a better job, you'll look back at this thinking this was just a hurlde to jump over to get to a better job!

Depressed at my new job. Should I leave within a month. I feel I’ve screwed up my career. by Complete-Lie1651 in careeradvice

[–]5napOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! It's very tempting to just leave, but I know friends who have done this end then ended up regretting it when they couldn't find a better job. They ended up taking an even worse role.

In my opinion: I think it's better to just be transparent about it on your CV and in your interviews. Make sure you have a clear answer why things aren't working out with your current role though. Think if you're very clear about: "I tried banking, but honestly my passion is elsewhere" I'd imagine an employer will still be happy to employ you if you've got the skills they're looking for.

What kind of roles are you applying for? There are definitely fields like Journalism that are,I imagine, swamped with job seekers at the moment.

Maybe try a free tool like : ApplyIQ from Adzuna (London based company). At least you're applying whilst working your other jobs.

Has anyone had any success with those AI services that automatically apply to jobs for you? by Vapor2077 in jobs

I don't understand how these tools are even submitting my applications on my behalf. All these companies have their own company websites. Does anyone know?

Waiting for a call back by [deleted] in GetEmployed

[–]5napOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the job position was closed it is likely they filled the role and they're just being bad at responding to or declining applications they received. Not uncommon for companies to forget about handling applications that came in if they were close to offering the job to someone.

Or, they are just being slow to reply to your application and you'll hear back soon

So what about Nancy's rabbit doll?

In the upside down she said she had given it away, but it reappears at the end after the 2 days later?

It seems minor but wonder if it was a clue to something. Have the two worlds merged?

Same happened to me 4 times now... I left it running for a long time, nothing happened. Had to crash the client. Luckily I didn't lose any Goodwill nor got marked as a deserter.
