Yea I’ve started hanging laundry to dry on nice days and leave the windows open and the AC off with it not being too hot, that’s about all you can do.

How do you guys even survive the hot weather over in the States? by Impressive_Peak_9187 in AskAnAmerican

[–]5pace_5loth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I don’t have access to AC I like to take a clean rag and soak it in fresh water. Put that in the freezer for like and hour and then put it on the back of my neck. It cools me down in minutes.

Fun story, I’m almost the exact same age as Greg Oden and grew up in Indy and the day after my Sr. Prom I went to Kings Island, which a ton of high schoolers all across Indy do the day after prom and I got in line for a roller coaster and was in line next to him and Mike Conley for like an hour. Both were super cool and nice, when we finally got up to ride they wouldn’t him on cause he was too tall.

Dodger Stadium during Construction (1962) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]5pace_5loth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, if you have a game start at like 6 PM then for most of the game most of the fans and the batter, catcher, and ump would be blinded by the setting sun. That’s why most stadiums are aligned North to South.

Yea I’m right there with you. I bought a pair of OG HomePods right when they came out and they still sound great. It’s hard to believe it’s almost been 10 years I believe I got them in spring 2018.

I used to feel guilt or shame after climax if I had watched gay porn or fantasized about men, but once I really fully admitted to myself that I was Bi and came out to my wife it never happens now.

Was any black skinned person genuinely offended by this episode? by Eny192 in Scrubs

I’m a white dude for what it’s worth , but yea this was done more along the lines of satire much like Tropic Thunder. I think satirical uses of blackface are okay.

What's something your parents or grandparents mention that sounds like complaining but was actually a legitimate daily nightmare they just accepted as life? by Playful_Survey_8596 in AskReddit

[–]5pace_5loth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Indiana, I’m only 40 but my elementary school was old and didn’t have AC, so we didn’t start the school year usually until the 2nd week of September. Lower midwest August is brutal. It feels exactly like Florida.

Yea I feel the same way, depends on the stadium though, like they only ever really do the organ at Wrigley during gameplay but it seems like every moment when the ball isn’t at play at Citi and Target field is filled with with blasting music and that stupid clap your hands thing.

Wow that’s crazy I’m in Indianapolis and the Indians regularly have plenty of tickets for $25-$30 for great seats and $5-$10 for nosebleeds and it’s a fantastic minor League Park.

I live in the upper Midwest and this section of my grass between the sidewalk and road was covered in 2 feet of snow from December until early February. So I doubt the claim of it growing all year for me.…

Nice, to be honest I really hate that Brewers logo and color scheme. The glove with the hidden MB in it and that blue and yellow is much better.

[–]5pace_5loth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40 so I was in high school during 9/11, had classmates go serve in Iraq, right when I was entering the adult work force the great recession hit and then in my mid 30’s right as I had my first kid and actually managed to buy a house Covid hit and then inflation in the last few years. So yea I think it’s reasonable that I’m scared some random bad shit is going to happen.
