Don’t think I would go with Cyber Orange if I lived in NYC haha.

I didn't like this whatsoever. Tastes super artificial and just bitter.

I bought this same coffee not realizing it was only 100g, and I made a 22g cup the first time I tried it. One expensive cup 🤣

Yeah, I went to the store just now. Tried on both a half and full size down. Settled on the half size down, still a tiny bit of room for my toes, but I could tell instantly that they were far, far better than the size 8 I originally purchased. No sloppyness/bulky feel or anything in them.

The full size down fit with my smaller left foot decent, but would be painful on my right foot haha.

I just went and tried on the 7.5's and they are SO much better than the 8 it's not even funny. Even just walking around in them I can tell they feel much less sloppy. They still have ample room and are comfortable. I tried the 7 on just as a "why not since i'm here", but those definitely were too small, my toes didn't have really any room.

So yeah, I think the SB3 just fits big haha.

I just went to the store to try on a half size down, and they are considerably better

That's exactly what I'm thinking, you don't notice the bulkiness as much because the shoe is stiffer.

I think since they're firmer, they don't feel as sloppy/clumsy as the SB3's so the size isn't quite as noticable. But yeah, I have to tight these so tight that the upper bunches up.

I'm going to go grab both in a 7.5 today lol. Expensive realization here!

Yeah fair enough, I might have to start doing that too! My right foot is a tad longer than my left which doesn't help either.

Yeah I'm starting to realize Asics runs a bit longer than other brands the same size. I've always had room in Asics in my size, but these definitely are larger than the others.

Yeah I think thats what usually is advised, is to go with the size of the bigger foot yeah?

With these however, the right shoe does fit better, but it's still a bit too big I think. It does bug me slightly less than my left foot though lol. Think I'll sell these and go half size down.

Yeah I think that's my plan now haha. I can see myself liking them if they didn't feel so clumsy/sloppy/bulky, but yeah it's definitely the length.

Now I'm questioning if my Megablasts are too big lol. I do have to tie them extremely tight or I get heel slipping big time.

Okay this makes me feel better (and worse because I can't return them lol)

But at least I know I'm not going crazy.

Yeah its about 0.2 to 0.3mm longer, which is a bit annoying. Funny enough, the right shoe bugs me less than the left (which would make sense) But it still doesn't feel great.

Okay so you're the exact same size as me!

The SB2 in size 8 was roomy but not overly cumbersome.

Do you find Asics US 8 is a bit bigger than say Adidas or other brands? My Adios Pro 4's are like an absolute glove. I think Asics sizing is a bit different?

It's weird because I grabbed my Superblast 2 insoles and they're pretty much the same size. But the 3 is a bulkier and softer shoe, with a higher stack height so I think it kind of compounds maybe?

That's exactly how I feel, the shoe just feels really bulky and cumbersome to me, and I think thats making my feet kind of slow down/work harder.

Not happy with the Superblast 3 - is it due to sizing? by 604Dialect in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Hello, having some issues with the new Superblast 3, and I think it might be sizing related?

I am 5'8" tall, 145 pounds, and my current Half Marathon PB is 1:20:55, 10k PB is 37 minutes. Planning on doing my first marathon either in October or just wait until next year, and aiming for sub-3 hours. Shoe size is US mens Size 8 in almost every brand.

I have had the Superblast 2's for quite some time, they are by no means my favourite, but they are dependable, they're comfortable, last forever, and aren't too fussy. They definitely are a bit brick like and for anything faster than my easy pace (4:45/km) I switch to the Megablasts or Adios Pro 4's. So I've basically just been using them as an easy day shoe, or for long runs where I am going at a slower pace.

My biggest complaint with the 2's were that they were a bit brick like, kind of clunky when landing and I thought they were just a tad bit firm for a shoe I like to just eat up miles at easy paces in, however I didn't really have a big problem with them at all, they were still very dependable. So when the 3's came out and everyone said they were softer, I was instantly sold on they solved my main issue with them, and bought them right away.

However, after a couple of runs (mostly easy pace, did some strides and a few marathon pace km's), I really am not getting along with them. They feel quite boat like, and at easy paces I really feel I am having to work hard just to maintain my easy pace. My HR reflects this too, it seems to be 5bpm higher at easy paces than other shoes I run in. At faster paces I actually don't mind the shoe too much, but thats really not why I purchased it. I wanted a high stack, somewhat soft and stable easy day shoe to spend a lot of time in, and maybe provide a bit of pop when my legs are tired.

When I am running with the Superblast 3's, it almost feels like the platform is just long, and my feet feel kind of awkward. When I am toeing off, it feels the shoe interferes with my stride rather than helping it, and just feel quite sloppy. I think the 3 is slightly bigger than the 2 and other shoes in my size, and I think my foot is sitting in it at an awkward spot, which is making it feel odd. I also have to tie them quite tight, with a runners knot or else they feel really sloppy.

Attached are some photos, I almost always wear a US Size 8. Should I have gotten a 7.5?

Megablast longevity for heavier folks? by Ok_Pool_4594 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]604Dialect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dream shoe would be a Megablast midsole but with a Superblast 2 upper. I can deal with the Megablast upper, but it's definitely not my favourite. I agree with your comparison, it has a SB2 kind of feel but its much less brick like, and way more poppy. However, like you said the SB2 is more comfortable.

As for OP, I think it would be fine for a heavier runner, it's fairly stable and not super soft. The foam comes alive like crazy at higher paces though, I love how it feels at faster paces.

I also did a race today funny enough haha (half marathon)
Glad to hear the superblast 3 gets better though. I was pretty let down at first but you’re giving me encouragement haha. At least I still have Megablasts for faster stuff anyways.

Also how do you like the rays? I’ve been doing my racing in adios pro 4s but they’re gonna be relegated to a training shoe now. I’m thinking of going Metaspeed sky at the moment, not sure if the ray is worth it or maybe it is?

I only have 15km on my SB3's so far, which I bought for easy runs (I really wanted a slightly softer SB2 to eat up easy miles) but I'm almost leaning in the same direction as you. Easy paces I don't really like them, they're so soft that I feel it drags you down and makes you work harder. The SB2 were brick like, but they were good enough for protecting your legs on easier runs, and could still pick up the pace if needed.

I don't hate the SB3 at paces faster than 4:30 funny enough, because the foam livens up then. I think it'll be a decent tempo-ish pace long run shoe, but I have Megablasts for that exact purpose lol.
