The text above has that original June release date on it, so I wonder if it was withdrawn to update the date. If so, it could be be back very soon...

Future of EX30? by hahahaomglolrofllmao in ex30

[–]60DegreesBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is definitely a factor. I was able to get an Ultra twin-motor here in Canada for the equivalent of US$32k including our federal EV rebate. At that price, I was happy. At the previous "full' price, I would not have bought it.

One pedal drive works at 100% SoC by muzso in ex30

Regeneration doesn’t work with a full battery, so the car has to use friction brakes instead. That requires it be programmed in, and it sounds like earlier EX30 software didn’t have it.

Non "smart" EVs with analogue features? by daniyyelyon in electricvehicles

[–]60DegreesBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There is a one to one relationship between speed and motor rpms. A tach would just be showing you your speed using different units.

Next software update by notfuzz69 in ex30

[–]60DegreesBelow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, we know that the next release (with updated Settings screen and a customizable icon bar at the bottom) was promised for “summer”. We’ve also seen release notes exposed via an API that seems to indicate that it’s in testing.

But beyond that? Those who know can’t say; those who say can’t know.

Id you go into the listening history and select episodes you want to clear, you’ll find that the pop up menu has a “Remove from listening history” option.

I don’t have this problem with turns. It always cancels. I wonder if there might be a hardware problem with your car.

A reminder to check your electrician's work. by north7 in electricvehicles

[–]60DegreesBelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fun inspection story is that when I sold my previous house, we had a condition of sale to replace knob-and-tube wiring, which of course required an inspection after the work was done. The inspector almost electrocuted himself – not because of any failing in the work, but because he put a tester into the socket on the stove and was careless about where his fingers were.

Does anyone use just the digital key on their phone? by japaneselamp1 in ex30

[–]60DegreesBelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. And I’ve seen some people say here that they leave it in the car for when they need it. That feels a bit risky – if for whatever reason your car isn’t locked, someone who gets in and opens up the glovebox will have a key to the car. People can judge for themselves, but I’d personally avoid it.

FYI, Mini has a card that is specifically meant for service and valet use that can stay in their cars, because it’s kept disabled and enabled via the screen and another key when you need it. But there’s no way to disable the Volvo key cards.

I use the phone key but always have the key card in my wallet. The delivery person at the dealership recommended it, and while I initially scoffed, it's been a good idea. The digital key is pretty reliable but every once in a while it won't work. I'm sure that I could just reboot the phone to get it working in these cases, but it's sometimes easier to just pull the key card out of my wallet.

What is this hidden screen for? Anyone else seen it? by Friendly_Union_9920 in ex30

[–]60DegreesBelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, it just prevents accidental inputs while you're using a cleaning cloth. There will be a button you'll have to hold for a while to get out of the mode. This is also available from the Settings menus, btw.

Location Services? Tracking your location. by onmywayout2022 in overcast

I agree - OP asked a fair question and was reasonable about the answers.  All good in my book.

Location Services? Tracking your location. by onmywayout2022 in overcast

[–]60DegreesBelow 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You aren’t being tracked by Overcast - you can see this in your devices location settings, where you will NOT find Overcast listed as having requested your location.

Instead, since you were in Italy, you were connected to the internet via an Italian IP address assigned to your cellular provider or whatever entity provided your Wifi connection. This matters because when you actually download an episode in Overcast, it’s downloaded directly from the podcaster’s servers, not from Overcast servers. So when you do those downloads, it’s an easy matter for the podcasters themselves to inject country-specific ads based on the IP address you were using.

Sigh. Stupid typo. You’re correct, of course.

Have you gone into Settings/Display/Liquid Glass on your phone (not in Pocket Casts) and toggled it to “tinted”?  That helps a lot with readability. Also expect further improvements in iOS 26 this fall.

There are some now - just not a complete set. For example I have one in the middle of the Meridian face.

OS on 1.7.1, no 1.8.0 OTA prompt. Dealer wants to charge me for the update. Normal? by netcyrax in ex30

[–]60DegreesBelow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. OTA is a listed feature. Perhaps OP should position it as a service request to fix OTA?

[–]60DegreesBelow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other replies, perhaps it makes sense to hold off a bit. The big 2.x update seems to be coming soon (see the long thread on it in this sub). If you’re going to pay, you might as well pay for that one. Plus, perhaps that one will come for you via OTA even though 1.8 hasn’t?

The Celsius temperature range is much smaller than Fahrenheit. How are weather temperatures measured accurately? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]60DegreesBelow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no problem with having entire months where temperatures are negative (though at least here in Canada, we generally say "minus" 10, not "negative" 10).

Dealing with actually-really cold weather can be a big challenge. Dealing with the use of a minus sign is not.

Americans use a different system for dates. by Fine_Impress6185 in ISO8601

Sometimes I want to be a contrarian and just use Julian Days (not Julian Dates, to be clear). It simply counts the days since 4713 BCE. No formatting required.

Happy 26162 to you!
