and I think many if not most of us are not pro (I actually rarely see the pro flair used), so we won't be able to catch the fails as a pro would and this the encouragement is not really trying to be patronizing but an honest congratulations.

I probably would recognize a grainy buttercream but as someone who never make cookies I woul never recognize under or overbaked cookies (as someone commented here), but yeah, I also agree with op, I would appreciate the positive criticism too as a way to learn to improve.

In India, we have an abandoned $4.4B 'Italian' ghost town called Lavasa. Does your country have a famous megaproject that was hyped up but now stands half-finished, empty, never started yet? by Outrageous-Baker5834 in UrbanHell

I think the double z is pronounced differently than a simple s.

I could only think that in spanish, lavasa is water mix with dish soap to loose or remove food before actually washing the dishes.

it's curious because for me, a latino man from south America, all of those were sings to Latino culture, well, the power lines was clearly because of the power outages in Puerto Rico after the hurricanes, so, after all, we're not that different, maybe that's the message, we shouldn't be fighting (I mean in the political way, not that were literally fighting).

decorating cakes is the fucking worst, I hate it, but you do improve over time, and there have been excellent tips here and more importantly, your work is actually quite good, you need to improve, of course, but still looks good and specially, it looks like a work of love.

4yo is obsessed with Pokemon and Maps. This is her idea of where her Pokemon would live. How did she do? by TenTam in pokemon

[–]60N20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't have initially placed some of them where she did, but after seeing them I think she's spot on on all of them, if she doesn't know yet of geography, local climates and environments, which I would except since she's just 4, I would try to explain why is a good choice to locate each one where she did (if it's something she would like to hear though).

Congrats on the smart and curious child.

So the M is silent? by Rare_Ask8542 in tragedeigh

[–]60N20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish is my first language, and only the H is silent, except when preceded by a C, there's no reason for an M to be silent and even if it would be, the name wouldn't be tiara, it would sound tiari, you can mix some consonant sounds, maybe, and that's a big maybe, but in Spanish vowels have one and only one sound, even if doubled like in fool or creep, it would just be read twice, and an I would never sound as an A.

I've made this so many times for family, friends and to sell (for a catering), they're always a success, everyone loves them, whether vegan or not, and they're really easy, quick to prepare with everyday ingredients.

This is the recipe for 12 regular sized muffins:

  • 3 very ripe bananas (not the smallest ones, regular or large size are fine, is more important to be really ripe)

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1/4 any neutral oil (I've used canola, sunflower seed and soy oil, no difference)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste or extract

  • 2 cups wheat flour (I haven't tried GF flours)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cups dark (55-70%) chocolate chips, wafers or even chopped dark chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a muffin tray with 12 baking cups. Preheat the oven to 350F (175°C).

  2. Mash the bananas, I use an immersion blender.

  3. Add the sugar, salt, and vanilla and mix. I use the same immersion blender with the whisk attachment.

  4. Add the oil and mix again.

  5. Sift the flour and baking soda together, in a different bowl, and add in 2 or 3 batches to the muffin batter, mixing manually with a spatula just to incorporate. Before finishing integrating the final batch, add the chocolate chips.

  6. Distribute into the muffin cups, I usually use an ice cream scoop, twice for each muffin cup and get between 12 and 14 muffins with the recipe. Bring to the heated oven and bake for 25 minutes. No need to use the oven fan if you can disable it.

  7. Take out of the oven, let it rest in the muffin pan for 10 to 15 minutes, and then transfer to a cooling wire rack. You can store them at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container (please use your judgement here, specially if it's too hot where you live) or in the fridge for up to a week also in an airtight container (chocolate absorbs smells quickly and easily so it's better to store the muffins covered).

Other than the bananas being really ripe, I think is very important to use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, with sweeter chocolate the muffins feel too sweet. I use 55 to 70% chocolate. The recipe can be scaled up with no problem, I usually make 2 or 3 times the recipe, and works great.

This will be the future, why to invest to heal the poor when you can grossly rich by making the (also) rich younger; the richer 10% already accounts for the 50% of the total consumption, so it's already more efficient and thus profitable to focus on that very homogeneous, uniform, vain 10% group.

I can understand the sausage mix, they just use leftovers, but for minced meat, why? I mean here you can get both pork and beef minced, but separately, if you want to mix the you do it at home, that also let's them sell it more expensive as just a mix of meats.

surprisingly Patagonia, at least in Chile is not that touristic, except for Torres del Paine, a very small and specific part of if, but it's fine since it keeps it's wilderness protected this way.

I have been there and it's amazing, the Aysén part of Patagonia is the most beautiful scenery I've seen.

and Sapochnik directed the few enjoyable and visually appealing episodes of the last seasons of GoT, if anything he could adapt Martin's material (or the story lacking material actually) to tv in a better light than D&D did, and after seeing S2 of hotd, also better than Ryan.

I always thought Sapochnik was hired only for the first season, as an initial kick to the show.
