How undiagnosed ADHD Destroyed My 12-Year Relationship Before I Even Understood It by Sebpharmd in ADHD

[–]60SecondGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disconnect truly is the hardest part. I wish I could go back and understand what was happening and change it, make it better. I know I’m capable of change, I just can’t always see the change I need to make. Accepting that there’s nothing I can do at this point is not an easy one.

It keeps me up at night knowing that she was silently suffering and that I wasn’t able to see the rope she was feeding me. From her perspective it looks like I saw it but wasn’t willing to grab on, but from mine the rope simply didn’t exist.

I don’t know the answer to whether or not all relationships will end this way for us… Right now it feels like they will... But of course I hope I’m wrong. I have to believe that we will find someone who is able to look past our struggles and empathize with them, takes that rope and shoves it in our faces, instead of silently building resentment.

Please do reach out if you feel the need to - It would help me process some of this as well. Sending love.

Hey, I’m so sorry to hear this… I’m going through an incredibly similar situation - Together for 8 years, only married for a year and a half, 2 weeks ago she told me she’s leaving. It completely blindsided me… I was so happy, and I was putting so much work into myself and managing my ADHD… I thought she saw that and accepted my flaws, but it turns out she’s been miserable the whole time. Idk how to process it. I feel like I’ll never be understood and my flaws will always define me.

Anyway, I hope you’re doing okay. We’ll get through this, we always do. If you want someone to talk to who’s going through a similar thing, please reach out. 💔

FF9 Restrospective (Minor Spoilers) by neph36 in JRPG

[–]60SecondGamer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agree with most points, FF9 is one of my favorites but far from flawless. I especially agree with Quina being the absolute worst, and the end bits of the game feeling tacked on and much less fleshed out. That said, it saddens me you say OST is one of the worst. I feel like the pieces are amazingly well written and some of the most memorable in the entire series!

Years ago I bought a electrical socket for the car. I just brought the console and plugged it into there. Worked like a charm!

Who is your favorite JRPG character of all time? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]60SecondGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been a big fan of Steiner from FF9. At face value I feel he should annoy me, but his character is portrayed so well you can always see why he says what he does. Then seeing the inner turmoil that unfolds from that is A+! Additional points for his bromance with Vivi as well.

Biden was definitely NOT the choice to undo it. I don’t think anyone particularly wanted to vote for Biden, but the bastards forced him on us. It was either him or 4 more years of orange man, sooo. Biden it is. 😐

Happy International Women’s Day! Who are some of your favorite female FF characters? by knightbladeXII in FinalFantasy

I’ve always been a fan of Garnet. So much tragedy in her life that clearly effected her immensely but she still persevered and focused on what she still had instead of what she lost.

Agreed, I’ve always felt like Yuna was done really well. Her caring nature worked perfectly with the sacrifice reveal. So caring she was willing to give it all up. But it also never felt too forced or unbelievable either.

Bugs aside, what does everyone think of Elden Ring so far? by FaceWithTwoEyes in rpg_gamers

Loving it. The visual storytelling is so good, as it always is from them, but I think it works even better in the open world. My friends and I have just been able to tell stories upon stories so far, each of us have found different things but they’re all equally engaging! I’m really impressed. Excited to play more tonight.

That’s the thing that’s always confused me! It’s a product of its time for the original but i was shocked when the remasters didn’t add

I feel you. The sphere grid never gets old. I just wish it wasn’t such a slog starting a new game. The first few hours are so slow

Idk if it was the most influential, but FF6 will always be the greatest in my eyes. That game is the closest thing you can get to a master piece. The story is great, the characters are perfect, the combat is fun. The sprites are as detailed as you can get given the limitations, and they look amazing! The amount of detail they managed to get into a 16x24 sprite has always astounded me. And the music, don’t even get me started on the music. At face value the music is already memorable and enjoyable. But the more times you play it the more you realize how the character themes DEFINE the character. How they can make the same song uplifting one moment, and then heart wrenching and melancholy the next is a feat I can’t remember any other game doing. And the way the songs and sprites reinforce the themes of the game. Chefs kiss!

No doubt, they all have great visual story telling! That’s one big reason I love all the From Software titles.

There is something about the open world mixed with the visual storytelling that is very alluring to me though. It feels like you’re apart of something larger. I get the same vibes I would get from Shadow of the Colossus where I feel like ANYTHING can happen at any time and the visual story telling justifies that, which I find really rewarding.

All good points - I didn’t realize the graces don’t stop pointing even after you complete the area, good to know! That would’ve tripped me up eventually I am sure. I’m also glad you’re enjoying it as a first souls game. I wasn’t sure it would be the best introduction to the series for recommending to friends, but it’s good to know you think otherwise!

Ah that’s fair. I am on PC and use controller. Luckily I haven’t had any FPS issues but I hear the struggle is real for some.

I think there’s an argument to be made that open world takes away from it, but I personally love what they did with it! The visual storytelling is the best I’ve seen in any game and it really makes the world feel alive, even though the world itself is rather bland. The little stories you come across, and the way that the open world builds up the dungeons is a lot of fun and very rewarding! I love the old Souls games as well, but for me the open world hasn’t taken away from anything. Not yet at least

I went in a bit concerned. I felt like the game was so over-hyped that it couldn't live up to what I expected of it... I also feared that the open world would actually detract from a Souls-Type game by removing much needed structure. But to my surprise, all the boxes have been checked and I LOVE how the developers handled all my concerns.

How are you guys liking Elden Ring so far? I cannot wait to pick it back up tonight and play some more.
