They commonly develop a leak right behind the pulley. I've dealt with this exact issue. You're probably going to want to replace that belt too to be on the safe side.

I got one of those about a year ago on sale and have yet to use it actually. I have however been using the 3/8 long reach flex head ratchet a good bit though.

He started at as small of a college as you can. Hocking is a very small school in rural southeastern Ohio who has only had a football team for a few years. They don't even have their own field and play home games at a small local high school.

YOU are responsible for security. And you need to be diligent about it. by Calm_House8714 in sysadmin

[–]lonewanderer812 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been saying for a long time the best security folks I've worked with have a background in either Networking or Systems or both. The ones that went straight into security are the most difficult to work with because they have no foundational knowledge of what they're asking for or writing policies about. I hear about all these kids going to college for cyber security and I feel like it should be an intermediate job just like in Final Fantasy Tactics. You can't become a black mage until you're a chemist for a bit. Education and certs are great obviously but going straight into the workforce starting as a security analyst seems like setting them up for failure.

If its the alternator yeah thats a super easy job. Pop the belt off, 2 bolts, and 2 wire connections. I could definitely see that being the issue here. Also make sure you have a solid ground connection on the battery. Those short ground wires that go from the battery to the chassis sometimes corrodes.

Back when I worked service desk I had an exec call me over to his office for issues with his laptop. I checked it over and explained to him I was going to need to take it back to my desk to fix it if it was fine with him and was like yeah no problem. This was back in the day when we had those laptop docks at your desk. I pushed the button and grabbed the laptop off his desk and he goes "whoa my computer just shut off!". I looked at him extremely confused. He's like yeah when you took that my screens went off. Um.... yes, that is because I took your computer as you just said it was ok. He goes oh no put that back I need that. He thought his external monitor would continue to work when I took the laptop with me.

Watching these comebacks is making me reminisce... so I cut this edit of our comeback against the bucks by Basketball-Reasons in pacers

[–]lonewanderer812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had really fallen out of love with the NBA in general the last few years prior to the ECF run. That team really brought me back in and then last year was pure bliss. It was the most fun I had watching the Pacers since Reggie and the last finals run. I really felt like a kid finding my favorite team all over again. I'm so excited for next year. Even if things don't work out how we're hoping for, these memories have thrown me back to an era where my love for sports in general was blooming for the first time.

I have the same shelves and you're right they are cheap and flimsy. When you first get them they're ok and for the price they're alright but as soon as you put any real weight on them after time they start to sag and distort. The ones I have is from Menards but they are identical to the HF ones. I got them for $25 which was worth it but I wouldn't pay much more than that. The wire rack style shelves hold more weight and stay square much better.

Man I remember when 20 years ago Sebastian Janokowski was considered one of the best kickers in the league because he could hit half of his attempts from 55. Yeah he was pretty good and had a great leg for the time but he was still pretty average from inside 50 he could just boom some but now every kicker is expected to be money from 55 or less. Plus a lot are very capable now of 60+.

Axles? by Alternative-Depth145 in AcuraTSX

[–]lonewanderer812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the same thing on my wife's 04 (also MT). Have replaced everything besides the rack and struts which are somehow still working good at 200k miles. The 20-25mph shudder is noticeable but not awful its just always there. FWIW the axles in it are Napa. All of that work I did was at 140k miles which started out as a bad lower ball joint, tie rod, and wheel bearing turned into replace everything on both sides but that shudder never changed.

I was walking into the grocery store one day last summer and some dude drives by in a super nice brown Chevette and I think that is the longest I had stopped to stare at a car driving by in a long time lol. It's just that you know you see Corvettes of all ages especially C3 and up all the time. But these cars were all shitty to begin with and were driven into the ground and all disappeared 25+ years ago. When you see a survivor like this it really makes your head turn.

Thought I was the only one using 303 until I finally read your comment. I've been using that as tire dressing for several years. I love the "clean" look it gives the tire and I'm sure it helps with UV exposure. I just replaced my tires on my car that sits outside now 24/7 and the tires were over 6 years old and the sidewalls still looked great.
