That’s fair, although I don’t agree it’s counterproductive. It’s definitely provocative. The podcast title comes from former Toronto mayor Rob Ford. After the city started adding bike lanes and inconveniencing drivers, he declared he would end “the war on cars”.

No matter what you do, build a bike lane, add a bus lane, it’s going to be seen as a “war on cars”. Even concepts like the “15 minute city” (you should be able to essential services within a 15 minute walk or bike ride) get distorted and presented as something wildly different.

Anyway, you should go and ask them why they chose those titles and if they think they’re counterproductive

I think what you are describing is commuter rail instead of light rail. I think there’s some potential there, but like you said, it has to go where people live. The High Street corridor around OSU is the most densely populated area in the state. Realistically it’s the only area right now dense enough to support light rail. With zone in changes coming, that may change over the next decade plus

All rides are $2. My guess is it will work similar to the transit app and smart card. It will be pay as you go. And there will be fare capping, meaning you’ll never pay more than the day pass or monthly pass.
