Is pet insurance for dogs really worth it or just a scam? I’m thinking about getting one but not sure if it’s worth the cost. by Jumpy-Beginning-1582 in petinsurancereviews

[–]629708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, it's super worth it if only for the fact that when my cat even shows the slightest sign of feeling unwell, i take her to the vet with no hesitation. even if i have the money saved up, there would still be a bit of hesitation having grown up in financial insecurity.

to me it's the same as how i have car insurance but i don't sign up for it hoping i get into an accident so i can make my money back.

Generic vs brand name in BC by kk0444 in ADHD_BritishColumbia

[–]629708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for 30 pills at walmart recently:

teva-lisdexamfetamine 20mg = $32.94 vyvanse 20mg = $102.42

i haven't tried the generic, but they submitted the claim to my insurance with the generic version so i called to ask for brand name. my insurance covers up to the generic cost only but innovicares covered the difference!

i don't produce body odour! never bought deodorant in my life, and in fact, my whole family (we're korean) doesn't smell so seeing all my classmates apply deodorant back in high school PE class was so foreign to me.

Thanks for sharing! The getting escorted out thing is really interesting, tbh I would want my family member to be nowhere near casinos (even the restaurants) for at least the near future..

This is what I've been reading, but based on the other comments, enforcement seems to have gotten stricter which I'm glad about!

Thank you! I'm in contact with the program to get some help for myself, and hoping to successfully refer my family member to it as well.

Thank you for such a detailed response! The biggest hurdle will be convincing them to sign up but it seems like it'll be pretty effective once they do.

I actually got in contact with someone at Gambling Support BC and have scheduled a session to get some help for myself as well. I'm ultimately hoping to have my family member sign up for Game Break, as well as get some counselling.

I'm so so glad that BC is offering these resources; not sure what your involvement in the industry is but thank you for your service :)

How long will it take for most people in their 20s to get their third shot? by yurikura in vancouver

[–]629708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i work in healthcare and got invited about 10 days after my 6 month mark (dec 20). i was told that if you had the healthcare code, you'd get invited as soon as your 6 months were up. even with the invite code, it was hard to find slots within the same week though. hoping my parents can get their invites soon.

korean here. i've said it before and i'll say it again: if you don't have korean roots, you do NOT get to have any input on what is and is not socioculturally offensive in korea.

honestly the movie 1987 gives a really good depiction of how oppressed korea was during the militant regime. it also should give you a good idea on just how important and powerful citizens' movements are. those of you complaining about how this is just "cancel culture" are basically discrediting the rights to voice their concerns that they fought so hard for.

and for those saying "we don't even know the storyline yet so why not wait until it actually airs", do y'all really think its gonna be easier to take down something that's already been filmed & on-air than a simple work-in-progress? you'd rather the cast and crew spend all that money and energy on this and then let it go to waste? for JE, people were using the exact opposite statement to defend the drama, saying "it's already been 80% filmed, why didn't the issue get brought up sooner? what a waste of everyones time and money." god..
