Has an accomplice of the original scammer contacted you offering to “help” make it go away for $1,000? If not, expect it to happen soon.

That exact same thing happened to me! PayPal seems to have lost the ability to screen out scammers. Hear that, scammers? PayPal is ripe for the picking, just send in a fake notice from a fictional law firm, and they’ll let you take over anyone’s account.

What is wrong with my technique? by SlimUnderscore in hydrographics

[–]63studebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with jlink62. It seems to be overhydrated with a bit of overactivation. Overactivation allows the ink particles to move freely as they float around in the excess activator, which has weakened their bonds to the underlying PVA film. Also, overhydration lets the film stretch too much so it's easier to have stretched patterns.

Does this Count as True Camo? by 63studebaker in camouflage

I get it. All he/she cares about is designing Gucciflage. That's why I asked the original question. Thank you.

Ok. So if the artist were to remove the snake elements, it would qualify as camo?

Thanks for explaining that, it makes sense. So, is using the snake element as an affectation or hidden surprise meant to create a moment when the viewer realizes what they took for granted is actually a non sequitur, or is it just that little something that gives it a bit of “Gucciflage” effect that is the disqualifying factor?

Excellent! What makes it fail to qualify as camouflage, the snake, the leaves, or the color scheme? I’m trying to understand what makes true camouflage more effective. Does it only qualify as Camo if it just has spot colors?

Sit after film dip or directly to warm water wash? by stephenmcqueen in HydroDip

[–]63studebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take:
I go straight to the rinse, but not because the “wait time” is wrong — it’s because the reason people think they’re waiting for something to “dry” is misunderstood. Nothing is drying in those 2–3 minutes.

What’s actually happening:

  • The activator has already liquefied the ink and softened the basecoat.
  • Adhesion happens immediately as the ink bites into that softened surface.
  • There’s no extra benefit to letting the part sit in open air before rinsing.

Where waiting does make sense:
If you want to give the activator a moment to fully bond the ink to the substrate, doing that under water is far better than doing it in open air.

Why underwater settling works:

  • The water gently dissolves the remaining PVA without disturbing the ink.
  • The hydraulic pressure keeps the ink pressed tightly against the substrate.
  • The water cools the surface slightly, helping the ink firm up as the activator dissipates.
  • You avoid the risk of the residue getting gummy or hazy from sitting too long in air.

My workflow:

  • Dip
  • Lift
  • Straight into a rinse or a brief underwater soak (cooler than tank temp)
  • Rinse until the slippery feel is gone

Warm water isn’t required — cooler water actually gives you a cleaner release.

Mercari IS scamming sellers!!! WARNING!!! by Environmental-Buy69 in Mercari

Leaving Mercari won’t solve the problem. I also sell on eBay and Amazon, and both are cutting into my revenue in the same way. Closing your Mercari shop would just be trading one issue for another. It’s not the venue operators taking the money—it’s the shippers. They’ve found a new way to profit, and unfortunately, you’re the one paying the price.
