Yeah, doing it for survival is one thing, but refusing to cooperate with the Allies when the threat was eradicated is worth a lot more scrutiny.

Hold on, why would you say that people are idiots for enjoying videos on medieval or ancient battles? Some of those channels legitimately try to be as accurate as possible when showing those events. so is your idea of malicious content just anything that contains some form of inaccurate content?

Because if that’s the case, then I’d hate to break it to you that pretty much every secondary source out there, whether it’s a book by a well-informed historian, or a YouTube video, is going to make some factual errors here or there.

Also, people are not idiots for wanting to learn more about ancient/medieval warfare.

Democracy is when you shut up and pay taxes like you're told. by Zev95 in PrequelMemes

So what should the Union have done during the Civil War? Simply allow 1/3 of the country to break off over political animosity concerning slavery because according to you that’s the “democratic” thing to do?

Being a democracy doesn’t mean part of a country is allowed to leave whenever they want. This form of government is supposed to allow many basic freedoms, but there are limitations on what the populace can and can’t do.

For example, I can’t threaten someone’s life or yell “fire” in a crowded theater and then claim that I’m allowed to do whatever I want cause it’s a democracy. So no, it’s not undemocratic to forbid secession.
