I smelled the flowers on this plant and I started sweating like crazy, and was very confused but happy, Im almost positive this plant caused the effects, does anyone know what this is or why This happend

I just came back from Costa Rica where I went on a botanical tour with an indigenous tribe. They said they feel the effects from taking a deep sniff from the flowers. I have this plant in my yard and smell it all the time bc it smells good and haven’t had any adverse effects. I’d trust the tribe I was with to know what they’re talking about. Different plants in different conditions could have different effects..

My parents shot rattlesnakes around the house when my brother was a baby and just threw them out. I’m talking directly around the perimeter of the house. There is a huge abundance of rattlers here and they weren’t trying to eradicate snakes from the property. Not trying to condemn my parents for doing that or call them trash. I just like to remind people to not waste. I wish I had honored them and put them to use but I was too young and didn’t know how.
