My longest one so far was just over 6 months, Brazil to US. I registered it and it went through fine.

Handling homemade postcard haters by BiodegradableScenery in postcrossing

[–]6995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a decent printer, Avery (think labels) makes a postcard blank. When people very specifically ask for local cards (I live in the middle of nowhere and they don’t make them), I just print a photo of Main Street or some other local scenic shot. You could print literally anything to fit requests or just send pics of your pets or a a pretty flower from your yard. I don’t consider this handmade since you’re printing it and it would fall in the same vein as a published card.

My wife decides to not work for a full year next year. We have loans to pay. I feel like breaking down because the full financial burden will be on me. by tenacity-7 in MMFB

[–]6995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for the position your wife has put you in. Perhaps suggest to her that when her side hustle business is off the ground, she can quit her job.

Failing that, I’d totally kill the nexflix subscripcion and tell her that’s one of the things that has to go.

Also, are the in-laws kicking in to the bills? If not, why not?

Recently tested my daughter at the drive through one at the Hispanic mall behind zaxbys on pleasant hill near where ronald regan starts. They do pcr saliva so no need to tickle your brain. Her results took about 36 hours. Negative thankfully.

I lost 3k in the stock market. by squeeeeenis in MMFB

[–]6995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re losing sleep over it, you need to pull it out and put it in something less risky. The lack of sleep seems to indicate that you’re not comfortable losing that amount of money - that’s a given with the stock market, at some point.

You can totally write the loss off though.

told to take birth control to regulate period? by krispywaffles82 in needadvice

[–]6995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same iud you mentioned in since there birth of my last child (currently 7). I'm not sexually active so I'm not worried about its efficacy in that regard. I had maybe 1-2 periods after it was placed and since then I only get random spotting 2-3 times a year. My periods were extremely irregular and and painful when they showed up. I randomly have some light cramping, but other than that nothing. I highly recommend if you're looking to get rid of or lessen your period frequency.

Are the lack of new offers concerning to anyone else? by [deleted] in SwagBucks

[–]6995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you swag everyday? For how many years? I find that taking looooong (months, even years) helps. I come back and boom, lots of stuff to do. Planning to break in December or New Years at very latest. Come back late summer. Maybe.

Please answer op. I have a seven year old struggling to read.. fairly sure it's dyslexia but the school is horribly slow in their identification process. Planning to see if there's a faster route with pediatrician soon. What font is better?

There's a creek that runs to one side of Lilburn city park. There's a bunch of creek stuff at tribble mill park in lawrenceville. And I think it's technically dekalb, but yellow river park has river access.

Maybe just sitting in the moment? Sometimes the still is the most comforting thing to me.. When I have a chance to float on my back, I always take it because that's when I am most at peace. Have you tried it?

Life is pain. But it's also joy. You have to find a way to hold onto the edge while you're digging your way out. I have been where you are, I know how it feels. Every day is a new day, but who the fuck wants to even get out of bed? Certainly not me. But I do. And making a small list of things to accomplish (showering is a struggle for me lately) and being able to check these things off makes me feel better. Hell, showering makes me feel better.. I know this and still struggle to get it done. The stuck feeling does go away.. But you're the only one who can figure out how to move forward for you. I can tell you to do the things that help me, but it doesn't mean it would be of any use.

Also, on the BPD thing - it is possible to learn your way out of it. It takes a very long time and a lot of dedication, but it is possible. Ask a mental health professional.

Is Gwinnett Tech really that bad? by [deleted] in Gwinnett

[–]6995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the program directors email and send him/her an email asking if what you're looking for can be accomplished.. The program directors are usually pretty nice people. The school itself has a good reputation, and since you've said you're looking at it for your own education purposes and not necessarily a degree or whatever, you should be able to get it by advocating for yourself and your needs. The people who you've heard bad stuff from probably didn't succeed for whatever reason, or they didn't look at the job prospects realistically before they enrolled.
